Me: Please! Stop putting sweet non-conference games in random neutral arenas!

Every AD: Lol, LMAO even.

Q3 loss → Q2 loss

This is it, but I would disincintivize it if I were the ncaa

I mean sometimes it’s also seating capacity (and revenue from said seating capacity) but I’m not familiar with how those contracts go down.

Sure, Davidson used to play in Charlotte sometimes. But Spectrum isn't that much bigger than Dayton or UVA and is further away than the schools are from each other

Damn, they’re excited about playing Virginia I guess

Oh my god Virginia !

The long-lost and long-forgotten off-Broadway sequel to Oklahoma!

Happy to see a VCU flair user posting the UD non-con, thanks for sharing!

Keep your friends close but your enemies closer!

I don't personally consider Dayton an "enemy". They're doing their best to keep the A10's SOS strong by consistently having the strongest OOC schedule in the conference every season. I have a healthy respect for the UD program. I just wish they'd keep the wheels on the bus through an entire season for a change. Now, UR ... that's an enemy.

I’m glad you don’t hate us despite our games always being some knockout drag out brawl that give both of our fan bases heart conditions!! lol

u/stevemm70 VCU Rams 3d ago

Don’t get me wrong, I love it when we beat you.

3

u/OSUfirebird18 Dayton Flyers • Ohio State Buckeyes 3d ago

I mean I love it when we beat you too! The feeling is mutual!!

u/Qwertyioup111 VCU Rams 3d ago

We need them until we need to beat them. It’s a yearly cycle that repeats upon itself.

Hey, pump the brakes with the exclamation point usage. It’s not like you’re talking about playing Virginia.

I'm a fan of the A10 in general. In the non-conference I root for everybody. It helps that I have a lot of respect for Anthony Grant.

I feel like being in a mid major conference, we are almost required to root for our conference mates. If we are in the SEC or something, even in a down year, you’ll still get some quality Non Conference games against other big teams and the “power conference boost” to make the tourney.

u/willweaverrva VCU Rams 3d ago

Pretty much, though I basically fell in love with this conference from the moment we joined it because it's always so much fun, even if we can't seem to get more than one tourney bid anymore.

Hello fellow A10 sympathizers.

u/GoldenEagle28 Marquette Golden Eagles 3d ago

Marquette/Dayton will be sneaky fun

u/ProfessionalStart770 3d ago

Sneaky fun again!

Another great non-con. AG gotta go if he can’t make the NCAAs

Scheduling is one thing yall consistently do better than us

Exhibitions vs. both my flairs! Nice!

u/reskk Dayton Flyers • Missouri Tigers 3d ago

At least we got some road games this time. Dudes were NOT prepared for the road pressure last conference season.

3

u/ridethedeathcab Dayton Flyers • Notre Dame Fighting Irish 3d ago

Hoping UC becomes an annual matchup. It’s a good game for both schools, there’s no reason we shouldn’t play each other every year.

4

u/OSUfirebird18 Dayton Flyers • Ohio State Buckeyes 3d ago

Marquette and Cincy might be Q1 games. Not sure about Virginia. Are they expected to be decent this year? I know last year they were straight mid in the ACC.

8

u/willweaverrva VCU Rams 3d ago

Virginia should be at least competitive. They weren't great last year because of all the fallout from Tony Bennett's sudden retirement. Ryan Odom has assembled a very good squad.

Still salty, tbh

1

u/willweaverrva VCU Rams 1d ago

Oh, me too.

3

u/hscwahoo618 Virginia Cavaliers 3d ago

My biased, but I think reasonable expectations are between 4th and 5th in the ACC and borderline top 25 team. We have a lot of very intriguing new players that could be great, we just have to see how it all comes together.

Pumped to play yall! I just wish it was a home and home.

u/slasher016 Cincinnati Bearcats 3d ago

Cincinnati will definitely be a Q1 game. Road games are top 75 for Q1.

1

u/OSUfirebird18 Dayton Flyers • Ohio State Buckeyes 3d ago

Well…you better not end up at 76!! 😛

2

u/slasher016 Cincinnati Bearcats 3d ago

With the money spent on this roster plus the ridiculous SOS playing in the big 12 if it's not...

2

u/cecil021 Tennessee Volunteers 3d ago

My alma mater, ETSU, plays there. That would make for a cool road trip.

8

u/willweaverrva VCU Rams 3d ago

UD Arena is really nice and the atmosphere is electric. If you can, I'd definitely make the trip.

3

u/Captainspacedick69 Dayton Flyers 3d ago

We get drunk on 40’s and eat shitty pizza after the games. You’ll love it here.

2

u/TarHeelinRVA North Carolina Tar Heels • VCU Rams 2d ago

for a sec I just thought they were really pumped to play the Hoos

1

u/Pittsburgh-Milanista Big Ten 18h ago

Does Dayton no longer play Xavier?

1

u/willweaverrva VCU Rams 18h ago

They haven't in a while

Montgomery is ass lol

Lmao downvote me all you want, there’s a reason he stopped playing completely and we went on a win streak. Dude is a bum w no handle, yall will see

2

u/kronikfumes Dayton Flyers • Cincinnati Bearcats 3d ago

Who knows, maybe he’ll be the 2nd guy we get from Georgia that goes on to play in the NBA.

Man toumani was so awesome, glad yall took great care of him after crean was so shitty to him. We absolutely adored and still adore tou in Athens my flyer brother

Still annoyed crean with 16-16 with fucking Anthony Edward’s, Claxton, tou and rayShaun hamonds. Coaching failure masterclass all season. I’m just not the biggest Deshayne fan, he’s a good athlete, struggles academically, good not great handle, and average jumper. The tools are there, he just needs 5-7th man minutes on a tourney team, he just wasn’t there for us this season. Edit: forgot sahvir wheeler was on that team too🤦🏻

u/kronikfumes Dayton Flyers • Cincinnati Bearcats 3d ago

We had Toumani Camara, DaRon Holmes and Koby Brea in the 2022-23 season and we missed the tournament that season. Coach Grant can fumble the bag but still manages to churn out NBA talent lol
