Casual / Offseason Florida HC Todd Golden Hit 4 Back-To-Back Half Court Shots During Warm-Ups For National Championship

Just looked up his playing career. Dude couldn’t score much but was incredibly efficient with a really high A/TO and held the St. Mary’s FT% record until Delladova beat it. TIL he could ball…

I hope you realize nothing came of that and it was all clout chasing. Something far too common with high profile males. Fuck the ones that are guilty but nothing came of the accusations against Golden.

Rioux is 7'9. He doesn't even look like the same species as a relatively normal-sized human (Golden is 6'2).

Was it really 4 back-to-back? There are clocks all over this video and it’s like 4 minutes between the first and last shots

If I made one 20 years ago, and then shoot my next one right now and make it, that's still back to back. It's about the attempts, not the time.

13
u/chrstgtr 3d ago
No evidence of Title IX violations found. There is some evidence to suggest that he did it to non-UF students, which wouldn't be a Title IX violation. But the report didn't comment on that.

u/GonzoMonzo43 Gonzaga Bulldogs 3d ago
The university of Florida investigated, and the university of Florida cleared him.
15
u/DealerNo4908 Kentucky Wildcats • DePaul Blue Demons 3d ago
All they “cleared” was that it didn’t happen within a “university program or activity.” Why do UF fans always conveniently leave that out?
-2
u/Knook7 Florida Gators 3d ago
It was done by an independent firm. Get your facts straight

The conclusion that investigation came to was that there was no evidence it happened “within a university program or event.”
“ESPN on Monday obtained a copy of a letter that the university sent to a female complainant. According to the letter, the Title IX coordinator determined there was no evidence to indicate that sexual harassment "occurred within a university program or activity," and that is why the school had to dismiss the complaint.”

That game was insanely stressful, but one of the best games I’ve ever watched.
2
u/Gator1508 2d ago
I have hard time rewatching anything but last few minutes because we played like dogshit most of the game. Rewatching all that stuff you see forced shots that didn’t need to be take and stupid turnovers. And not even taking away from the actual good defense Houston played, just some of the horrible decisions we forced in response.
2
u/Jealous-Mushroom-858 2d ago
I’m sure it was very fun for neutrals to watch but as a Florida fan that stuff didn’t even feel like a real game. When the game ended it was still not setting in like “wait we actually won???”
15
u/Knook7 Florida Gators 3d ago
We have an absolutely mental OOC schedule, but its a real shame we don't play y'all next year. Although your roster is so insane idk if we'd have a shot
1
u/Jealous-Mushroom-858 2d ago
Our roster is considered better going into this season than it was going into last season. We’d have a shot and would probably win. How many allegedly super talented teams did Golden and friends embarrass last season?
2
u/AntiDECA Florida Gators 3d ago
I think the majority of Florida fans would be happy with Houston winning if Florida goes out early to another team.
There's no bad blood between the teams, we got our last championship off of them, and the way Houston lost last year was just heartbreaking... Watching the ball bounce that you're forbidden from grabbing while the clock drains. Plus Sampson just deserves a win, it will be sad if he retires without ever getting the ring. Like our volleyball coach who was here for 30 odd years and could never get over that hump. Always good, but never had it all line up.

Mens sports are such an expression of our gay tendencies while justifying it as straight and tough
13
7
u/mayo_man12 Kentucky Wildcats 3d ago
it’s more likely an expression of primally instilled competition than wtv the hell you just said lol. i’m not gonna act like the liver king over here, but sports in general (football in particular) are the closest things to primal caveman shit we have today. it’s why when a group of guys are trying to win a championship, they don’t see it as a fun game that they’re playing where they just dribble the ball and shoot it into a hoop (which is in principle what it is), they see it as life and death battle on the court. it’s almost natural to take sports so seriously, and that’s because it literally is.

u/Groundhog_fog 3d ago
Both can be true. It's the only acceptable place in much of our culture for men to touch each other. Slap ass on a basketball court, it's normal... Two men grinding is accepted if it's in the low post... I'm for it. Men need to touch each other more.

17
u/ImRonBurgundy__ 3d ago
I’m not a gator fan at all but it’s not the flex you think it is to boast about a meaningless December non conference game from 13 years ago in a thread about a team that just won the natty
9
u/954gator Florida Gators 3d ago
Game was sketch too lmao. They had more FT's probably in the last couple minutes than Florida had the whole game lmao.
That being said it was the same in reverse the year before. Florida had way more FT attempts than Zona. I don't get why games can't just be called evenly.
-7
1
u/Jealous-Mushroom-858 2d ago
Didn’t Florida make the elite 8 that year and you guys finished sweet 16? We finished higher ranked than you in both the AP and Coaches polls
Then the next year we had the greatest regular season in UF history and we made the final four
I think we’ll take a non conference loss. Gator fans would enjoy rewatching that game simply to see Scottie and big Pat together again. No one said they didn’t lose some games.
We comin for yall next year. Be ready
