Discussion What happened to the ACC?

What happened to the ACC? They got absolutely walloped in the ACC-SEC challenge last year (granted the SEC was really good). Some of their programs like GT and BC are scheduling some of the worst non-conference schedules I've ever seen. They're probably about to lose some of their flagship programs (UNC, UVA, FSU) to conference realignment once the grant of rights situation gets resolved in the courts. They used to be known as one of the best basketball conferences. Are they the worst power conference now?

BC, Wake, and GT are traditionally strong?

Stephon Marbury and the '96 Yellowjackets, shaking their heads.

That’s a fair point. A lot of the Cremins era was before my time but I did enjoy those Schenscher & Jack squads in 04/05.

Yes, BC under Al Skinner was a great program. Wake in the 90's and early 00's was great, GT in the 80's/90's/early 2000's was a perennial top 25 team. All of those programs have fallen off. Add NCSU, UVA (more recently), and Syracuse to that and this is why the ACC sucks now.
