Football (Soccer) streaming (Premier League, Champions League) with a VPN
Hello, does anyone have advice on the cheapest English-language streaming options for watching the Premier League, using a VPN?
Ideally, it would also include the Champions League, but it often seems that two separate services are necessary.
I've looked at Peacock ($11 USD/month), which is affordable, but of course, the Champions League isn't included. Adding a subscription to Paramount Plus to watch the UCL adds an extra $8 US/mth. This brings the price (11 + 8 = $19 USD/mth) very close to what it already costs me here in Australia (with Stan Sport), which is $20 US/mth.
Does anyone know of some better options? Again, I have a VPN so I can access services from other countries. Thanks!
[Edited because I got the pricing wrong for one of the services]

Hey glad it helped. If you want to keep your speeds or dont want to worry about changing your vpn region each time streamlocator.com is worth trying out. We offer a 7 day free trial and have a Discord group for support. Worth seeing what other streaming services are out there too!

What's the price? How good is it with VPN? And which VPN? Thanks

It has all the EPL and Champions League games. Not 100% but I’m sure the FA Cup and Carabao Cup games were on there too. I pay for the 4K subscription which allows two simultaneous streams and it costs $110 a year and I split that with a mate. I believe it also has Spanish and German leagues along with others but not sure exactly what. Also has F1 but how good that is I also don’t know as I only watch PL and CL really. Also has pretty much all new TV Shows and Movies but again, how good the quality is I don’t know as I don’t watch them. I use it on an Apple TV with SafeShell VPN and it works perfectly.

Thanks for the detailed response! So you need the VPN turned to Egypt while registering and streaming? How about payment? Does the usual Chase Starling work? Does it get the usual premier league English commentary?

I was actually in Egypt on holiday when I signed up so I didn’t need a VPN but people I know have signed up using a VPN. I have my VPN set to Egypt when watching it. The EPL games all have English commentary. It’s the usual world service stream that most countries outside of the UK have so the same as Peacock, Optus etc. I pay using my German credit card and know people using cards from their respective countries too.

Hi, I subscribed to TOD TV recently and it seems that when I try to watch UCL games, it asks me to subscribe but no plan can be selected. Is it also the case for you? Thanks!

u/Gertgerman 12d ago
No, that doesn’t happen for me. Which country did you subscribe in? I think that sometimes happens when it recognises you’re using a VPN

Egypt. I’m using Surfshark as my VPN from Germany.

Same thing is happening for me & only for Champions League. When I click on subscribe, it direct to a link with "plans?contentTypes=vip" but no Plan. Seems like some other people on Twitter is facing the same issue so maybe it is a bug or something idk.

Yep same exact problem. Let me know if you figured out something, I’ll do the same

It’s fixed now on my side without any tweaking so I assume it’s a bug or something! Hope it is working for you too

do they stream in 4k? i found setanta sports stream quality even at UHD very bad

They do have some games in UHD but it seems to be non HDR and other games they’ve started showing in HDR but not UHD, I’ve been told the HDR games are 1080p 50fps but I’ve never checked myself. The games are then labelled either 4K or HDR. I wasn’t overly impressed by the 4K games. Resolution was good and the picture was crystal clear but the colours seemed washed out due to the lack of HDR.

yeah it sucks man, colours defiantly off, looks a bit blury, frames aint great, this is for setanta. I havent tried TOD yet, ive just signed up, although the quality dont seem great there neither. How do you watch it? ive been told through browser 4k is defianly not suported, but on apps like firestick app, smart tv etc, thats when the 4k option appears?

I watch it on an Apple TV. 4K shows up but it’s not great. HD is fine. Quality is very good I find.

Why not look at splitting the cost of a subscription? This is what I do sometimes to cut my costs

I’m looking for something similar but WITHOUT commentary. It’s apparently extremely hard to watch football without commentary, not sure why. I’m even willing to pay for it which I’d never do usually, but even that doesn’t seem to be easy. If anyone know I appreciate any hint

Apparently Amazon Prime has that option. But I think only available in the UK

Prime in UK won't have any EPL going forward in the new deal. They had two rounds over the past three years. Prime from Egypt is £3 a year but no good for EPL. I think Denmark has the early kick offs on Prime but not in English.

Cool, thanks. I've seen a few people recommend this now. It actually doesn't seem much cheaper? For 1080p streaming, it's 18 USD/month, so basically the same price as what I mentioned above for the Peacock + Paramount combo (19/month). Any reason to prefer TOD over that option?
1
u/TheGameDayGuru 21d ago
Peacock is due a price increase soon, Also peacock doesn't show every Premier League game they have around 175 games a season which would mean you'd need another service to cover you for the Premier League. TOD has the option of 4k Premier League games aswell. On top of that included in TODs package you gain the League and FA Cup games which in the US you'd need to buy ESPN+ for. So overall you're saving quite alot through TOD.

Dont forget that the ass holes at peacock put half of the games on the usa network and you need a live streaming option like hulu live , youtube TV or Sling (cheapest $40)
