Antenna for sports
Hello! I live in northern VA and am hoping to find an antenna that picks up commanders and possible Orioles games. The football games are more important. I rent, so I can't do the large antenna for rooftops. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Do you know if your local stations (cbs/nbc/fox) usually carry the Commanders? The Orioles are only on MASN and you can buy a MASN+ subscription now to stream them.
This all depends on where you live but I would start with a cheap indoor antenna. Connect it to your tv usually via a coax connector on the back of your tv (should be labeled as Antenna). Most all tvs still have a connector.
I have a very old UHF/VHF antenna that I've used in Maryland and in Arizona and usually can bring in most local channels. In MD I think one station was a problem but I was living around Ellicott City and certain areas there have issues. In Phoenix I can get a truckload of local channels with better picture than you get streaming.
If that doesn't work then you would have to look at larger/more $ solutions.
Of course if your local station doesn't carry the game it won't matter.

A $20 counter top antenna from Amazon should do just fine to pick up network broadcasts for football.

The Orioles are a different story.

Antenna are more or less line of sight with a little over the horizon sneaking in. I can get stations 26 miles away because of the height of their broadcast towers. Trees, hills, buildings, even your own apartment build materials can block a clear signal.
