Book Request Books where everyone sleeps well?

I’ve been struggling with insomnia, and I like to read before bed. It stresses me out when the characters talk about not being able to sleep due to whatever situation they’re in. I know this is a niche request, but can anyone recommend a book where everyone consistently gets a good night of sleep?

Book Request Strong feel good vibes

Hi all, This is Caesar, AKA... my Bub. My Bub crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday to be with his sister that we lost a year and a half ago. He had bone cancer, so I'm thankful he isn't in pain anymore. ...but, my gosh, my heart hurts so badly right now. I'm looking for very cozy, happy, feel good book and tv recs. I love whimsical vibes and talking animals/magical creatures. I've already read the house in the cerulean sea series and the legends and lattes series. I appreciate any ideas. Thank you.

Book Request Cozy Fantasy With Dragons Rec

Hi!!!

I was wondering if anyone has any cozy fantasy recs including dragons. I'm looking for something similar to Miss Percy's Pocket Guide to the Care and Feeding of British Dragons, but I want something that focuses more on the main character and the dragon? I found that Miss Percy's didn't satisfy the need for 'dragon & friend' in me. I would prefer a female main character just cause I like to relate with characters if possible, but at this point I'm open to any recs! Thanks in advance!

Edit: thanks everyone for the recs! I fear I have many books to buy! I'll definitely try them out and see how it goes

Book Request Queer cozy fantasy

I am looking for cozy fantasy books that feature a queer main character (it can also include romance!)

Other than that, I am honestly not picky about the setting and plot - anything fantasy-related is fine. I also love murder mysteries and SciFi or monster romances. I just need a comfy read

🗣 discussion Why cozy?

I read cozy fantasy because it makes me happy. I'm new to cozy, I've read the irregular witches, spellshop, and the guide to hertical fishing, and I've got a lot of others on my TBR list. I was wondering, what could you read in a blurb or review that would automatically make you pick that book as your next read? Is it the bakery? The community/world? The sweet romances? The found family? Quirky, lovable pets? Maybe it's just the fact that it is labeled as cozy fantasy?

Also, what would/do you like to see in a cozy fantasy? Is there something you're looking for and just haven't found it? What is it?

Thanks for taking the time to interact with this post! Have a great day!

Book Request Looking for Cozy Fantasy Romance NO SMUT!

I’m trying to get into romance but the good handful I’ve tried is just straight smut. I just read Love’s a Witch by Tricia O’Malley. It was a good, cozy fantasy set in autumn in Scotland. The vibe I was going for. No where in the description did it say there was smut. I don’t mind it, it’s not my go to, just give a guy a warning.

DELUXE EDITION—a gorgeous hardcover edition featuring beautiful cerulean blue sprayed edges!

Sarah Beth Durst brings cozy fantasy romance to the high seas in Sea of Charms, the third magical adventure in the New York Times bestselling Spellshop series!

Marin has always belonged on the great blue sea. When the man she thought was the love of her life schemed to ruin her parents’ business, she did what her heart knew best: she fled to the sea.

Now working as a supply runner on her own boat, Marin sails from island to island, delivering a varied array of goods: letters, flour, stories, and even the occasional enchanted statue. It’s a lonely life, but it’s hers. Besides, she’s got the company of Perri the sea serpent and Ree the sailor shrub. They’re the best crew she could ask for.

On one of her routine trips to the capital of the Crescent Islands Empire, Alyssium, Marin finds the city on fire and a revolution underway—so she offers transportation to Dax, a composer friend who refuses to leave behind his instruments. What starts as a rescue evolves into a deal: Marin will keep Dax on as a (temporary) member of her crew if he becomes her pretend boyfriend at the End-of-Harvest Festival back home.

Against her better judgment, Marin finds herself intrigued by his stubbornness, his passion for stories, his charming smile—and realizes that perhaps she isn’t saving him. Maybe it’s the other way around.

Sea of Charms is a cozy fantasy romance about finding your crew, your family, and moreover, finding yourself.

Read in whatever order your heart desires, but don’t miss The Spellshop and The Enchanted Greenhouse.

🃏 Games Are there any cozy fantasy VIDEO GAMES?

I only just had this thought. I'm not that familiar with the cozy fantasy genre, as I'm a damnably slow reader. But there video games that capture that "fantasy, but relaxed" vibe?

Book Request Looking for a lighthearted, low stakes comfort read with lots of sweet fluffy romance

I need some urgent help please! I’m looking for an ultra sweet, lighthearted, low consequence, greenest of green flag romance with lots of tooth rotting fluff and tender moments that make you kick your feet and squeal. I want a super sweet, gentle MMC and preferably FMC as well.

Right now I’m having really bad PMS and struggling with my depression. I unfortunately read two books in a row that I had to DNF because they both had very dark upsetting themes that made me spiral even more with my depression.

I’m sorry if this sounds silly but I hope that anyone who has depression or deals with really severe PMS or PMDD will understand. I’m just feeling very sensitive and emotional right now and I just can’t handle anything too upsetting at the moment. I’m in desperate need of a good comfort read!

I would especially like to avoid anything involving r*pe, sexual assault and/or harassment, dubious consent or anything even remotely touching on those topics. Also nothing to do with animal cruelty or animal death please.

Book Request Book or Audio similar to Goblin Emperor or Curse of Chalion?

I've just finished listening to The Tomb of Dragons and I need recommendations for a new book to listen to to, preferably something a bit similar to the feel of world of the Goblin Emperor or the Chalion books? I'd like cozy fantasy preferably, with or without love interest, found family is a plus. Doesn't have to be an epic world saving either. I've also like Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, but I'm in a fantasy mood. (I've already got Legends & Lattes, and The Wandering Inn, and they're just not what I want at the moment)

Book Review The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong: A Short Review

Returning again with another book review, this time I just finished the novel The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong.

In the book we follow Tao, an immigrant fortune-teller from the Shinaran Empire, who travels around her adopted home country of Eshtera with her wagon and trusty mule, reading peoples’ fortunes. Although, the fortunes Tao reads, are only small ones – when it will rain again, which boy will the barmaid kiss, will the harvest be plentiful this year etc.

On her way, Tao will find herself in the company of new co-travelers, in the form of a former warrior, a (semi) reformed thief, a young baker and a cat, who will soon become her friends, as they search for the warrior’s missing daughter.

The story has many themes of immigration, racism, integration into a new culture and the preservation of the old one. Tao is a Shinn immigrant, ripped away from her ancestral home and facing a lot of discrimination by the new society she lives in. Her mother on the other hand, has made sure to integrate as much as she can into Eshteran society, ditching the culture and ideas she was born with for new ones. It seems to me that Shinara and Eshtera clearly represent Asian and European cultures respectively – with one clearly trying to dominate the other.

Although this is a cozy fantasy story, there’s certainly a fair a mount of action in it, as the band of misfits travels through the country in search of the missing child. The worldbuilding is light but satisfactory, and gives enough clues for me to want to see this world further, while I quite enjoyed the characters themselves, and the way they were presented in the text.

So, in conclusion, I’d recommend this book to someone that wants a slower-burn adventure. There’s enough action and enough calm to satisfy lovers of both tropes in my opinion, and the book itself isn’t all that long.
