Hello,
we are traveling to Crete next week and are staying in Rethymnon. We would like to visit Chania for a day but are not sure about the best way to get there:
- With a touroperator; pick-up from the hotel but more expensive and we would be limited to their departure schedule; usually you're already back in Rethymnon bij 17:30 so you can't stay for dinner in Chania. Is Chania a city where you can spend all day? Or is it ok to be back by 17:30?
- By public transport; we read that there are hourly busses from Rethymnon to Chania. They're a lot cheaper and also fast. But do we have to book them in advance? Are they usually crowded in September (would be a shame if the bus is full and we have to wait another hour to travel)? Are they reliable?
- By taxi. More expensive but more guaranteed maybe? Or do you also have to book them in advance? And there are 6 of us so probably more expensive.
We would not like to hire a car ourselves.
Or maybe there are even more options that we don't know about yet. Any advice is welcome :) Thanks in advance!
