Flux grenades
Ever since EoF launched I’ve noticed an uptick in people running flux grenades, mainly on hunter. Has there been a change to them that I’ve missed (or forgotten about) because when I’m stuck with one, it one bangs me from full health I’d say upwards of 90% of the time
This is without being weakened, and with no other debuffs on me (i.e. this happened to me just now, start of round 2 in trials, get stuck with a flux grenade crossing middle lane, bang, dead. No damage taken from weapons, no fall damage, no debuffs, full health and full shields. Just instantly dead)
For context, player who killed me was a striker titan rocking armamentarium with 105 grenade stat, which I think is something like a 0.8% damage buff in PvP. Is this a result of a buff I’ve missed or is there some sort of uber new tech, or the 100+ grenade stat, or what?

They have been OHK since the 30th anniversary update.
With EoF they got a reduction in cooldown time and are now easier to hit.
People were catching on at the start of the season, but then the lightweight knife/spreadshot combo was discovered.
If the nerf tomorrow is meaningful, you'll see an uptick Arc Hunter usage rates and more flux grenades.

Ahh okay that explains a lot, I had no idea they were a OHK for so long as I’ve RARELY seen them actually be used until this season so that definitely makes more sense! Ta

They used to have an insane cooldown time, honestly it’s so satisfying getting the stick, the tracking is pretty good but they get stuck on random stuff a lot

You would have rarely seen an arc hunter or arc warlock also. And titans like the lightning grenade usually, stick a wall, barricade up, heal.
They're also a pain in the ass to land even after update, at least on controller I find

You think more people will be playing ARC hunter with the nerf to gamblers dodge?

I think if anything, the throwing knife changes would be more of a factor. Tempest strike is busted too though, so arc is definitely a play.

Depends on how impactful the knife/spreadshot nerfs are, but I do expect to see some shift towards it. Not saying it's going to completely take the meta over, just that it will be more common. I think the top tier players will go back to invis.

It's been able to one shot for a long time at this point but before Edge of Fate it had a super long cooldown time. Now instead of having a super long cooldown time it has the fastest cooldown time of all the arc grenades and they gave it a small amount of aim assist to prevent the weird issue where it will just bounce off the enemy. I think the only thing keeping it from being overused is the fact that it takes a long time to detonate so you have to be really careful if you don't want to trade when sticking someone with it. That and it can still be somewhat hard to stick people but I've found taking fastball off helps somehow.

They've been OHK for a while but the Cooldown changes were drew me into them. From 3 minutes to like 30 seconds and with certain fragments/playstyles that 30 seconds is more like 15-20 seconds.
They're a lot of fun. Arc Hunter is a lot of fun. Not completely busted like the LW knife stuff(Although that video from yesterday on here of Combination Blow has me concerned), but a lot of fun to play with certain styles.

They used to have like a 120 sec cool down even at tier 100. Now it's more normalized and they throw/ track better

They do like 350 damage or something, not great overall. One person uses something though and someone gets killed by it and decides to try it too and so on.

Oh yeah for sure, but mainly I’m asking around if there’s been a damage boost to them on direct hits or suchlike where they’ll kill from full health etc? I’ve not tried them myself yet as I rarely run arc in PvP.
If they’re actually doing 350 then that would explain a lot as I’m pretty sure everyone has 230-ish HP now with the removal of resilience (what would’ve been T10 resil in old money)

At 100 nade stats Flux have 34 second cool down and they 1 tap. Thats a free kill every half minute. I got a double kill the other day cuz I stuck someone and he ran to his teammate.

Flux grenades have been OHK for a while. They buffed tracking in EoF so theyre a bit better.
