What's the fucking point of these exchanges offering 100x leverage if they're just going to kill those types of positions every time? Does that even provide a good experience to the exchange's customers? Just offer smaller leverage you can live with and let clients win or lose at a normal rate. Even casinos know you have to let the customer win a little to get them coming back

3

u/Lagna85 🟩 2K / 2K 🐒 8d ago

There is no end of greed for gamblers, so it's literally free money for the exchanges. So what's wrong with free money?

Just shorters trying to dig the deepest leverage-filled hole they can in the shortest amount of time possible, to capitalize on even the smallest amount of uncertainty.

Throughout nearly this entire Bullrun, we've had many, many little stretches of downturn like this recent one.

Every time, after 5-6 days of sustained selling pressure, every one has either seen a gigantic green-candle Day #7, or marked the shift of momentum where losses were bought back up within the next few days.

Tomorrow is Day #7.

This is the definition of "extremely oversold", unless anyone out there seriously believes that 1% stock market drops coincide with 10% drops in Crypto in such heavily-correlated markets these days. Heavy leverage can pull it off for a couple days of pressure, but they can't sustain it.

Leverage comes out of the woodwork hoping for quick profit on any scent of fear, and they're just trying to make an impression.

The fearful don't make money buying overblown dips, because they're always worried about dropping lower. This is just like a couple weeks back: short-term fear trying its best to shake you out as stocks slightly pull back momentum.

Being in the 116-117k range relative to Bitcoin's new ATH is similar to being in the 103-104k range back in May, when the ATH was 111.6k.

It may be frustrating to feel like we're just constantly floating 6-8% under our ATH, especially when the drops can be rather abrupt, but things are still looking strong in the bigger picture as the markets look for clarity and guidance.

It's nice to see that the bears who keep getting proven wrong are back, with the same narratives.

Are they finally gonna learn, and buy the dip? Probably not. They'll vanish again at the next pump.

Imagine thinking this is the end of the bullrun, when Fed rate cuts haven't even started yet, M2 supply is pumping back, the market has only just started getting comfortable with prices above $100K and buying alts, and sovereign funds have only just started.

I'll start worrying only after Feds don't have rates to cut anymore, and bears finally learn to buy the dip and start FOMOing.

4

u/VariatCA 🟦 3K / 3K 🐒 8d ago

I just wish BTC would give us a little more time to enjoy the elation of new all-time highs. The last few ATH's we've had (124.6k, 123.2k, the 111.6k back in May), Bitcoin is back down 5-6% within like 24 hours of hitting the new high.

That's saying nothing to how the Eth/Alt guys must feel lol, watching Eth get a couple percent away and then BTC drawing back down again.

Officially started to buy ETH again under 4150$.

Will continue to buy daily until it back higher than that... I think support is likely in that are (3800-4150$)... But I am often wrong.

ETH chart looks ver good, if that big 3800-4150$ region holds, fire the rockets.

I have little doubt that we’ll revisit ATHs but it’s going to be a nightmare breaking through $124K next time. Just be grateful that you’re not in r/MSTR. The street is increasingly worried that Saylor isn’t being truthful about just how leveraged the asset/coin truly is. Some suggesting it’s 9X.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they completely collapsed.

3

u/VariatCA 🟦 3K / 3K 🐒 7d ago

It's often the recovery from a rough dip that gives extra credence to the Bulls for making another charge upwards. Once that momentum reverses it can go on a real tear.

It wasn't that long ago (literally just a couple weeks ago), that BTC went from ~112.5k to ~124.6k in barely a weeks' time. It did the 116k->124.5k portion in just 4 days.

In 2020 when Saylor started buying BTC if the price went down $12k it would go to $0, now I am looking BTC going down over $12k in a few days and I don't really worry.

Nobody seems to talk much about Binance’s BNB - whether on YouTube or Reddit. Yet, it’s currently about 1.21x above its 2021 all-time high and still hovering near its recent peak, while BTC and ETH have seen much deeper corrections. Why is it flying under the radar? It’s been one of the most stable major tokens to hold over the past two years.

4

u/ftball21 🟦 0 / 4K 🦠 8d ago

R/cc is heavily us biased and binance still isn’t available for us users. Which makes me highly skeptical of the price, but damn, you can’t argue with a chart like that..

2

u/Numerous_Ruin_4947 🟩 0 / 0 🦠 8d ago

Binance is available for US users on binance.us

I sold a few BNB last year and sent the stablecoins to my Coinbase account, and from there my US checking account - all in day. BNB to USD in my bank account in 24 hours. I've held BNB since 2017.

I used to worry about BTC treasury companies being irresponsible leading to a shock event where BTC drops a ton due to the unwind of these levered balance sheets.

I'm still slightly worried about that but think it'll also be a great buying opportunity.

What I'm REALLY worried about are all these ETH treasury companies cropping up. I think there is a ton of risk there unless somehow they all convince the foundation and the community to change ETH back to PoW. Think ETH treasury companies are the lynchpin of the next bear market in crypto. Damnit.
