Ah, the sound of the toilet flushing.

my first was thought was that the orange man opened his mouth again but i was wrong, it’s just pure manipulation

39

Or just Eth breaking over historic ATH and people having sell orders placed at that level

23

u/titsngiggles69 🟩 2K / 2K 🐒 12h ago

That's a reasonable take that doesn't draw in clicks for sensational crypto "articles", so obviously you're wrong

6

u/gpattikjr 🟩 0 / 0 🦠 10h ago

Liquidation implies they got margin called. I have no idea why you would be trying to short ethereum right now. I think you're right with sells starting it, but add in the trailing stops for the "liquidation" headline.

2

u/fasole99 🟩 143 / 142 πŸ¦€ 7h ago

Well the articole states long positions not shorts.

1

u/gpattikjr 🟩 0 / 0 🦠 5h ago

Yeah. I found a better article. Someone dumped 24k bitcoin into low volume and tanked the price. All the leveraged positions got margin called because they were too far under.

I don't understand why chuds think this is some gotcha.

People are afraid of a world leader, who might have an outsized influence on their livelihood. It makes sense that people would consider that person daily.

It is rather normal to care what politicians do, especially the head of your nation. I am sorry that you find it odd that people care about politics. Guess the founding father's were woke snowflakes who let the King live rent-free in their heads, too. Keep being ignorant, it must be blissful.

Bitcoin is the biggest and oldest coin, like the boss of the playground. When Bitcoin goes up, people get happy and buy other coins too. When Bitcoin goes down, people get scared and sell other coins.

10 kids in your class like to collect pokemon cards.

You spend some money on pokemon cards. The value of the pokemon cards change over time.

A few years later you expect the pokemon cards to be worth more.

11

u/SmokesQuantity 🟦 0 / 0 🦠 14h ago

And then too many people simultaneously trying to sell the exact same cards when they’re worth the most. Crashing the value

5

Everything allows follows Bitcoin because there so much algo/bot trading

1

u/unlikely-contender 🟩 0 / 0 🦠 15h ago

manipulation? how would that work?

0

u/SmokesQuantity 🟦 0 / 0 🦠 14h ago

you could throw a few million down and hope it turns the tide. if you have enough pull maybe just a few social media posts. And viral fake news.

It’s all still a gamble though, I’m not seeing the manipulation here. Anytime a stock hits an all time high, people are gonna sell and the price is gonna drop back a bit, no?

Also everyone jumping in and leveraging long bets at the top with the hope that it will keep going up seems like it would fuck things up

I

2

Why is everybody saying manipulation πŸ˜‚ y’all are a bunch of fucking children.

8

u/SillyMoneyRick 🟩 0 / 0 🦠 11h ago

Just say you don't know how to read the blockchain. Binance and wintermute dumped the price. It's very clear manipulation.

2

u/dani6465 🟩 0 / 0 🦠 5h ago

When you write Binance, is it volume through Binance, or the company itself that dumped holdings? And at that magnitude? Because if it is simply through finance, what you just wrote is non-sense.

u/Josuk 🟩 142 / 142 πŸ¦€ 6h ago

1

u/MACO-Operator 🟩 0 / 0 🦠 7h ago

If you do not see any manipulation here but normal market behavior, then maybe cryptos are not your thing. It’s not a shame, not everybody can understand things like cryptos and markets. Hope you’ll find yourself some interests you’ll understand their basics.

19

u/debtfreegoal 🟦 371 / 370 🦞 16h ago

So the Market Makers flushing out the longs, is actually a good thing unless you’re one of those longs.

The MM probably benefits from a quick short position while driving the price down, then buy back more at a lower price and we are set to run up again this week.

Lesson.., if you’re trying to ride a pump with 100x longs, take your quick profits and move along. Don’t wait to 1000x your position over a weekend…

This is all a flawed, heavily manipulated game, in the grand scheme of things. Four months ago, everyone was saying Ethereum was a disappointment. And now, after only a few months, ATH and euphoria. Every. single. time. Same thing. XRP reaches $3.64 in mid July. Then drops to $2.75 only a week ago. This instability is the reason why crypto continues to be seen as gambling, and rightfully so.
