ADVICE September is historically the worst month for cryptocurrency. Don’t make emotional decisions

Upvotes

Some of you may be new around here, some maybe not. August and September have historically been the two weakest months of the year, with the number 1 and number 2 slot going to October and April respectively.

I’m expecting to see a market wide drop ranging from 10-15% over the next three to four weeks, before the true bull run starts. If you are new to crypto currencies just chill out, ride the wave and don’t sell anything. In fact, if you have the cash flow, now is the time to ramp up your principal contributions. If market cycles continue as they have before we may be on the cusp of a break out cycle, where today’s prices will never be available again.

As we move through September just keep it in the back of your head that September is always a bad month. Don’t make any emotional decisions.

MARKETS Bitcoin weekly market update, 25 August 2025

Upvotes

Bitcoin spent yet another week consolidating after the breakout in early July. The conservative price target of $142k remains.

Last week, markets were mostly in standby up until Friday, anxiously waiting for Powell to spill the beans about the prospects of a September rate cut at his Friday speech in Jackson Hole.

Then Friday came. Powell spoke. The markets listened. And apparently they were happy with what they heard: rate cuts are still on the table. Stocks pumped. Bitcoin pumped. Both Ethereum and BNB put in new all time highs.

After the Friday pump, bitcoin gave back some gains over the weekend, and closed in one more week of consolidation after the breakout in early July. In other words: nothing has changed. The price target of $142k remains. Note that this is a conservative price target; it might well end up going a lot higher.

Meanwhile, bitcoin dominance kept dropping. Meaning the big altseason is still in play. At some point during the next couple of months, dominance will likely bounce. This could be because the whole market corrects, or because bitcoin sets off on its next leg up while Ethereum consolidates.

Looking at the daily chart, 55.5% could be where dominance finds support. But that’s mostly speculation. As always we’ll have to keep watching the charts week by week and take things as they come.

In summary, let’s see how the coming week plays out, but for now everything still looks good!

BTC/USD weekly chart, 25 August 2025. Still consolidating after the breakout in early July. Price target of $142k remains.
Bitcoin dominance BTC.D, 25 august 2025. Trend turning down indicates altseason is ahead.

DISCUSSION Since Binance has advertised such a low mcap coin so much, I think it will list it.

If you zoom in on the last photo, the coin he shared is CWOIN. I don't understand why Binance is promoting such a low MCAPP coin so much. I think they will list it, but I would also like to get your thoughts on whether it is an investable coin or did Binance just share it? ………………………………………. ………………………………………. ……………………………………….

EXCHANGES Is anyone actually using grovex.io?? [CEX]

I want to figure out just how legit this exchange is.

I found it by looking at coin market cap under the places that list of all volume coming from different exchanges.

I basically sent an application to list our token in every single one that I thought would be compatible with the Sui ecosystem.

So after playing to about a dozen centralized exchanges, the only one that I kept in contact with an actually had good communication with me and our telegram chat was grovex.

Now they want me to deposit 2500 USD into the exchange, which I don't actually have, I will have to borrow a friend, who says they will let me borrow it.

I want to do a little bit of diligence before I deposit my friends money into an exchange I've never personally used.

As you might have guessed by our seven year old Reddit account and the fact that I am manually applying myself to get on centralized exchanges, we haven't achieved much financial success, but we are a super legit project that has been alive for more than seven years and has crypto app people actually benefit from outside of just financially.

So, that's why I am asking. Everything seems fine, but I want to check because it's not my money and I feel like a total dumb ass if it was a big scam.

P.S. On coinmarketcap they say that they have $1 billion of daily volume on Bitcoin USDT. I know for an assumption that this is pretty fake because they are literally offering to run the market maker on my coin, which of course I want because I want volume to show up on coinmarketcap too

METRICS Ethereum (ETH) Just Became The Fastest Asset In History To $500B - Quietly Making History While Few Are Talking About It

As you can see in the image above with the Fastest Assets to $500B, Ethereum is the one that achieved the fastest achievements and holds the record.

Timeline to $500B:

  • Ethereum (ETH): ~5.8 years
  • Exxon Mobil (XOM): ~7.9y
  • Bitcoin (BTC): ~12 years
  • Apple (AAPL): ~35 years

Ethereum did this in less than 6 years, what it took one of the most iconic companies on Earth more than three decades to achieve. Even Bitcoin, the OG of crypto took double the time.

Most people know Ethereum as “that crypto with smart contracts and NFTs,” but here’s a stat that puts things into perspective: it just became the fastest major asset in history to hit a $500 billion market cap.

This is not just a random milestone. This highlights how crypto and Ethereum is the fastest growing asset class ever created. We are watching the birth of a financial system that grows at internet speed. Ethereum is not just digital money, it is becoming the base layer for everything in the future, from DeFi, NFTs, gaming, DAOs, etc. Everything will be on top of Ethereum ecosystem.

Skeptics usually dismiss crypto as hype but the numbers are just brutal facts. Adoption curves are accelerating and capital is flowing so fast. Imagine not believing in a project with this amount of investment and insane metrics.

DEBATE US Treasury and USDT exploding USD money supply

We know if from Casinos. You enter, exchange money for tokens, play and once you leave, you change back to FIAT. In the meantime, the Casino doesnt do anything with your money.

To my understanding, Crypto and Tether is different and the US Goverment is going to use Tether to increase money supply. Here’s my thinking:

Treasury issues a bill (1) of 100 USD and Joe Sixpack buys it.
Treasury takes the 100 USD and sends it to Tether.
--> Tether sends 100 USDT back to Treasury
--> Tether sends 100 USD back to Treasury to buy the next 100 US Treasury bill (2)

Now Treasury has 200 USD and 100 USDT.
--> Treasury sends money from bill 2, 100 USD to Tether
--> Tether sends 100 USDT back to Treasury
--> Tether sends 100 USD back to Treasury to buy the next 100 US Treasury bill (3)

Treasury now has 300 USD and 200 USDT.
Since USDT is becoming a fully valid means of payment, US Treasury now has 500 USD to spend, only taking on 300 USD of new debt.

Am I missing something or is this really happening?

ADVICE My gate account account was hacked this morning $16k

Hello all, my gate account has been hacked. I woke up this morning to over $16,000 stolen from my account.

I have 3 layers of security. Two factor, email password verification which sends the code and my funds password. All three layers were by passed.

I have looked through my events viewer to see if anyone has accessed my machine and all the event ID's show no access has been made.

I have traded for 10 years and have been obsessive over security I have never been hacked before this is the first time.

I am very aware of links, malware and phishing so I don't click about links. I don't and have not shared my password to anyone. I know very few people and no one has access to my house. I'm very private as a person.

Still all my funds on the exchange were withdrawn this morning and I went into a panic spin. Gate simply said, send us a support ticket and I need to all to my local police.

They have not been supportive at all. I never received one email from gate with a code to approve the transactions and my two factor is on all the time.

Unless the hacker deleted these email codes and got into my email, which I find so unlikely. I am not sure how it was all bypassed.

I have always traded manually but last night for the first time I tested a bot that gate offers with $2.

I have an API key that I've been testing my own bot with. I have not shared the api key with anyone. The bot I made I've run once and it is only to make spot trades not withdrawals. So it cannot be that, I have not shared that with anyone.

My simple earn subscriptions were all manually redeemed by the attacker and then withdrawn. To their wallet on the bsc chain. USDT had been withdrawn.

What are the recourse and steps out local police are useless. I highly doubt my machine was exploited as I only use it for my trading.

This becomes an issue where perhaps the exchange had a vulnerability exploited, but they would argue it was my device. Instead.

What are the steps from here? This is the first time it has happened to me. What do people normally do.

Thanks

Update:

Thinking over where I have gone wrong.

Just to clarify. The two out of norm instances are that yesterday I tried one of the bots that gateio promotes. With $2 to see how it performed.

Secondly some weeks ago I generated an api, with the only permission being to place a spot order. No withdraw permissions etc. I wrote my own python script to place a spot trade through the api. I never finished the script. I scrapped the idea. However I created an API key and that is the point I wanted to make. Never shared it, but I did create it. I never finished the script I wrote. So I scrapped it. Yesterday is when I ran gates bot and this morning my funds are stolen.

Also, for those on about cold storage. I do store my investments on cold. But my day trading funds are on the exchange I earn my income from that so I trade it daily hence it's on there.

MOONS When is the Moons distribution?

I’ve noticed that in RCC it’s pretty easy to find all kinds of information about Moons: there are discussions about MoonWeek, price posts, governance votes, and various initiatives. But what really surprises me is that there doesn’t seem to be any clear information about the actual distribution process.

For example:

  • When exactly is the snapshot taken?
  • On which day are the Moons distributed?
  • Where can we see the exact number of Moons distributed and how much each user received?

It seems logical that the community should have a transparent and predictable schedule — with dates, steps, and final results. But right now it feels like the only way to know is to wait for a mod post or simply check your Vault once the Moons show up.

Am I missing something? Does RCC have an official page or pinned info that specifically covers the distribution schedule (not just MoonWeek)?

ADVICE New to trading. Like brand new

I recently got into trading cryptocurrency around (I have been mining Pi through the Pi app for a few years now and had a bit of pi available to trade) I had ~$10 worth of pi and am now trading it around and learning the ropes a bit. I am using the Pionex app for this.

I was pretty much wondering if this was even going to be enough to get started with? It seems if I play my cards right I can potentially gain around 30 cents to 50 cents just from a good 5% price jump.

I figured I would start really low and work my way up, that way I don't lose a bunch of money just learning the ropes but this is a lot slower than I imagined. It's nothing like the TV shows like Mr Addams and his stocks lol "It's up 40! 50! Oh back down. 20! 10..." Lol does the excitement come with bigger trades?

ADVICE [Help] Experiencing Withdrawal Freeze on Binance Account Review

Hey everyone,

I’m honestly at a loss right now, so I figured I’d post here and see if anyone has been through something similar.

Back on April 26, 2025, I withdrew 0.02270642 LTC (about $1.99 at the time) from my Binance account to pay for a tiny digital service (just a streaming sub) through a Sellpass store that used HoodPay for checkout.

Fast forward to August 24, 2025, and out of nowhere my Binance account got restricted. They sent me an RFI (Request for Information) about that little transaction. I went ahead and submitted everything they asked for — details, invoices, screenshots, even the checkout link. The case ID for RFI was later marked as closed, but my account is still restricted.

I also jumped on chat support (Case ID: 146658217) and spoke with an agent named Erika. She said my account is “under review” and it could take up to 30 days. But I wasn’t given any clear reason or timeline beyond that.

Here’s the thing: I’ve been on Binance for years. I trusted it as my main wallet for daily transactions. I’m a freelancer/website developer and I literally use Binance to receive payments and manage my money because in my country there is no way to hold USD. Having my funds locked like this is brutal — I’ve got rent, household bills, and school fees for my kids coming up. The uncertainty is causing a lot of stress and anxiety.

I’m not trying to break the rules here. This was literally a $1.99 purchase, and I cooperated fully with everything they asked.

👉 if anyone here has been through the same thing and knows how to escalate/solve it, I’d really appreciate the help. I just need access to my hard-earned own funds.

Thanks in advance 🙏

PROJECT-UPDATE Lavazza, one of the largest coffee companies in the world, is using supply chain tracking on Algorand to track and authenticate its coffee production. A real world use case that benefits from immutability and common knowledge.

Lavazza Coffee is using Algorand for supply chain traceability, and they’re not slowing down.

They have been doing this for years now. A great proof of concept for huge corporations that want to leverage blockchain to add transparency and trust, in July alone they recorded on-chain:

• 20,000+ tons of coffee cherries
• 189+ tons of green coffee
• 50+ tons of roasted coffee

To see the transactions on-chain, go to the link below and click on the transaction ID. In the notes section you can read all the details:

MOONS 44,500 Moons burned 4 hours ago 🔥

This puts us at close to 150,000 Moons that were bought from the open market and burned in just the past couple of days with everything being verifiable on chain.

With our realistic max supply, all already in circulation being at around 50M or so, that is almost 0.3% of all the Moons that will ever exist.

With the constant, increasing burns, the app developed by Rickribera and developing partnerships, Moons are a moonshot ready to happen and all the handwork and trust in the team and community is gonna pay off soon.

No other coin/token in the world is already listed on major exchanges like Kraken, has such a strong, transparent and not replicatable use case and a marketcap of only around 7-8 M USD
