❓Need Advice 🙏 Blockchain Analysis

Hi all, I'm posting in this sub to start but please let me know if I should post elsewhere. I have a client of mine who has gotten into crypto recently. I believe she's a victim of a recovery scam just by analysing the ERC20 contract she received '40' Ethereum in. I've managed to trace where her original couple of thousand went to, there seems to be a couple wallets that have the value of anywhere between $50,000-100,000.

However there are a couple wallets below:

  1. 0xa0b86991c6218b36c1d19d4a2e9eb0ce3606eb48 = $3.89M
  2. 0x1bac08001d761c303901d5e32273a24c07d3f3da = $1.56 M

I haven't found anymore yet but there probably is.

Can I use tools to help analyse/identify the original wallet address and potentially figure out these scammers? I am quite experienced in crypto but not savvy enough to figure this stuff out. Any advice would be appreciated.

TLDR: Client it a victim of a recovery scam, any tools/people to analyse blockchain addresses to identify scammers?

❓Need Advice 🙏 Did I Mess Up?

Hey everybody,

Around 6 months ago I started investing in crypto. Probably like most of you, I started investing a little each pay check and thought I was doing alright.

I recently came to the realization that buying into EFTs isn’t the same as actually owning the coins. Did I screw up here?

If so, what’s the best course of action? Should I take my money out of the EFTs and get an account through Coinbase, Kraken, etc. and actually purchase the coins?

I’m still relatively new and don’t know anything about hot/cold wallets, etc. if I need to move away from the EFTs. I would really appreciate any insight/advice I can get. Thank you in advance!

❓Need Advice 🙏 ETH gone after collecting stake rewards

Hey everyone,

I have never posted before, but it would just like some advice from people more experienced with Ethereum. I have a MetaMask wallet with some Ethereum and as I don't actively trade, I decided to stake it using the MetaMask Pooled Staking. I have been done this for some time without any issues. However, I just checked my balance and saw that all my Ethereum is gone. At this point I decided to check the transactions, and it seems that after I decide to claim my stake rewards some dubious transfers occured. Now, can someone shine some light on what happened, and if all my Ethereum is gone for good. The wallet address is: 0x669893f45A432Bf152d722d5904b1e486a7Be2b2

Thanks in advance

❓Need Advice 🙏 Looking for feedback: could an AI bot really help reduce crypto scams & rug pulls?

Hey everyone,

We all know scams and rugpulls are one of the biggest issues in crypto. Every week we see projects launch without liquidity, with shady tokenomics, or simply vanish after hype. Regular investors usually realize it too late.

That made me wonder:

Would an AI-powered tool that scans contracts and gives early warnings (e.g. no liquidity, too much holder concentration, mint authority issues, etc.) actually help people avoid getting burned?

I’ve been experimenting with building such a bot (it scans token contracts and flags risks automatically), but I’d really like to hear community feedback:

What features would you find most useful in a tool like this?

Would you actually use something like this before investing?

Or do you think people don’t care enough until they lose money?

Not trying to shill anything — just looking for honest opinions from people who’ve been around scams before.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts 🙏

❓Need Advice 🙏 Coinbase to secure wallet

Hi all! In 2017 I purchased $30 of Bitcoin via the Coinbase app. Just wanted to try it out during the HODL height, I guess. I literally just thought about it this morning it’s grown a LITTLE. A very little. Thankful for the easy recovery, but that’s a little scary, as well. I’d like to move it somewhere more secure, and will want the ability to purchase more in small amounts. A little here and there each payday. Best wallet(s) to use? Don’t DM me, I’m not up for the scam, save us both the time. 😊. Thanks!

❓Need Advice 🙏 Concert telcoin to BTC or EUR

Hey everybody,

I hold Telcoin and currently have it stored on Kucoin. Recently Kucoin changed it services to residents from the Netherlands, no longer allowing them to trade currencies, but they still enable withdrawal of assets. I tried to find a place to move my Telcoin to, but have not find a solution yet.

Preferably I convert my Telcoin to either BTC, ETH, or Euro. I'm not much into the crypto space at the moment, and I am wondering if there are reliable services to convert it? Or if there is an exchange that I don't know about that can be accessed in Europe and lists Telcoin.

I tried opening up a wallet in the telcoin app, but due to 'high demand' I'm not able to be assigned one. Also not sure if there is a possibility to convert it to other assets in their app.

Thanks in advance!

**Title 'Concert' = 'Convert'

❓Need Advice 🙏 What's the safest way for a beginner to buy and hold Ethereum?

Hello there, I'm new to crypto and want to invest in Ethereum for the long term. My main concern is security, especially regarding the risks of holding crypto. What are the most reliable methods for buying and securely storing ETH? I'm open to using a hardware wallet, but I'm worried about the risk of losing the recovery phrase. Any advice on best practices for safe keeping would be greatly appreciated.

If I decided to use a hardware wallet to secure my Ethereum. And currently looking at options like Ledger and Trezor. From your experience, what are the key pros and cons of these wallets for a new user? Also, I'm very concerned about the physical security of my recovery phrase. What are some of the most reliable methods for storing it to prevent loss or theft without relying on digital copies?"

❓Need Advice 🙏 Can someone explain this to me

I just put 300 dollars into my phantom wallet, and I have seen many people making huge amounts of profit from memecoins, eg cupsey, and many more, but Idk how do they accurately snipe the coins, furthermore, I noticed many of these memecoins traders hold for a couple seconds before selling, any reason why, like isn’t there a transaction fee which takes away a portion of the money even if they get a winning trade? So can anyone give me tips or smth I don’t wanna get rugpulled

❓Need Advice 🙏 need some guidance, please help!

Hi everyone !

I need some help. This is my first time posting on reddit and building a project, and i am looking for your insights and opinions, so please go easy on me. I apologize for the long read.

I have been interested in crypto (especially bitcoin and dogecoin since the election). I have been looking for crypto news but i have always found them either biased, too much data , quantitative metrics and at times confusing and sometimes, some AI regurgitated news. None of them personalize the news to your interests or portfolio and none of them fetch and feed the news which is actually valuable or needed. I feel most of the time people skim through twitter/reddit to find news which is good enough to spend money on.

So i thought what if i made a tool which could use AI to go through all crypto platforms, news platforms too, reddit , twitter, you name it.. and give you unbiased news based on your personalized interests which you can customize. basically filters news, alerts, NOISE and narratives based on your preferences (coins, sectors, NFTs, DeFi, etc.)

So I started building a small project to solve this for myself, and I’d love your thoughts:

(1) Pulls news from Twitter, Reddit, crypto sites, etc.

(2) Filters it based on your interests (coins, NFTs, DeFi, sectors).

(3) Flags critical alerts early (narratives, tokens, regulations).

(4) Uses AI to explain " why it matters " and give risk/reward confidence scores.

(5) Sends a short daily newsletter with your personal highlights in plain English, not jargon.

I want to show what NEWS was (1) Detected , (2) Why it matters and what (3) Action you should take clearly! Early alerts on narratives, tokens, or sectors you care about. I am trying to make it easily digestible for casual investors like me and actionable with confidence scores + plain-language explanations. i want to give risk/reward with confidence levels for each alert.

The most important part is that the news is simply not some bullshit summary, but analyzes, predicts, flags critical alerts, sends a daily email newsletter with your highlights, so you don’t have to scroll endless feeds.

My goal is to build not just another crypto newsletter, but something Personalized, Actionable (confidence levels, risks/rewards) and Digestible for casual investors like me.

But I don’t know if I’m solving a real problem or just building a “meh” project.

Since this is my first attempt, I’d really value your thoughts:

Would something like this be useful to you?

What part feels valuable vs. “just noise”?

What would make you actually use or subscribe to a tool like this?

I’m not looking for customers right now, just validation and honest feedback (even if you think it’s dumb, please tell me).

I ALSO made a mock landing page + dashboard preview so people can see what it might look like (not live yet, just a prototype). I know this is a bit premature, but I thought why not!

I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to read this fully and i thank any comments for my project.

Thanks

❓Need Advice 🙏 $BOOM: Loud Coin anyone know and use it?

Hi everyone, I came across this token. From what I understand it's a telegram game and you get paid for playing time, the more you play the more you earn. In addition to the doubts about Telegram's security, it offers advantageous rewards that make me think of a scam (I've already answered myself, I know). Maybe someone has used it...

❓Question What is staking?

Could someone explain to me what staking crypto is? I was checking my wallet and saw that I could stake my crypto and from what I understood by staking my crypto a certain amount chosen by me or all of it, I would end up receiving more in a period of time, but how does this work? Is it safe enough where I wont lose all my crypto and have people genuinely made a profit of staking? It almost sounds too good to be true, to just lock off part of your crypto and in given time you end up getting more crypto than what you started with.

❓Need Advice 🙏 Delete nexus.io account

Hi everyone, I signed up for a nexus.io account to trade Litecoin because I heard the Litewallet app was shutting down. At the time I mistakenly thought it was the same as nexuswallet.com, which is actually the platform I intended to use. Now I’m unsure whether nexus.io is legit and would like to delete my account. The problem is that I cannot find any option or instructions on their desktop app or website to do this. Has anyone managed to close or delete an account with them, or knows the best way to proceed? Any advice would be really appreciated!

❓Need Advice 🙏 First hardware wallet, trezor model one on sale?

I have a very small amount of crypto currently, just BTC ETH and a tiny bit of Solana.

I intend to invest small amounts every month (maybe £100-200)

I saw that the Trezor Model One is £19 right now, is that a good deal? I currently use an Exodus hot wallet.

I am aware it lacks the secure element chip and support for sol ada etc, but is the Safe 3 for £70 worth the upgrade for a small portfolio.

I would upgrade my hardware wallet in 1-2 years either way most likely.

Any inputs would be very appreciated. Thanks :)

❓Need Advice 🙏 Creating My Exit Plan Before Starting to DCA into BTC — please help!

Hi everyone, I have a few questions and would appreciate your help.

Q1: I plan to start DCA (Dollar-Cost Averaging) monthly with $600–$1,000, buying BTC through P2P and moving it into my cold wallet. Since I live in a country where crypto access is limited, is this the best approach? Note: I receive payments in a virtual USD account, so I’ll be buying BTC with USD.

Q2: My goal is to accumulate 0.25–0.35 BTC before 2028. Let’s assume BTC reaches $300K or at least higher than today. If I want to sell my BTC for cash, what’s the best way to do this? I can’t do P2P because I’d be selling small amounts of BTC worth millions in EGP, which could be problematic. However, I need to swap my BTC into USD or USDT at a guaranteed stable price until I figure out a safe way to withdraw my money into EGP. Is there any platform to do this easily?

Q3: Can I convert USDT to BTC without conversion fees? Buying BTC requires larger amounts of USD to get better rates via P2P, and unfortunately that’s my only option right now. I was thinking of buying weekly for better prices and then converting to BTC. Is that possible?

Currently, I’m thinking that once it reaches my target, I’ll convert it into USDT and then sell gradually via P2P over time. Does that sound like a good idea? Honestly, I feel lost.

FYI: Since Jan 2023, I could have bought crypto monthly for $300–$500 but I didn’t, and I regret it. By now I could have around 19–21 million EGP from just 600K–700K EGP in 3 years. For perspective, 20 million Egyptian pounds in Egypt = a PPP (Purchasing Power Parity) roughly equal to 5 million USD.

Thank you all for reading.

❓Question Question About Wallet Addresses and Input Transaction IDs

I'm just learning how to use block explorers in my attempt to understand the block chain and cryptocurrency transactions a little bit better and I'm a bit confused on one point. I've heard of co-spend heuristics and how it can be used to infer ownership of more than one input address. This makes sense to me, but I'm struggling to understand why this is the best way to do it. Below is what I understand about addresses so I think I have to be wrong somewhere. Please help me see where I've gone wrong.

1) Wallets have an address that can be used to receive funds. This address is public and can be shared with other individuals on the blockchain to conduct transactions.

3) Wallets may have one public address, but are able to create multiple addresses for individual transactions.

2) Wallets are like keychains. The wallet doesn't house the actual currency but manages the addresses of the UTXOs in your possession as well as your private key.

3) Each transaction on the blockchain consists of a transaction input and a transaction output (at least post Block 0).

4) If multiple inputs are used in a transaction it can be inferred (but is not certain) that the same wallet or person is the owner of those transaction inputs (not considering coinjoins).

5) Using that method of co-spend heuristics, it is possible to infer with some amount of certainty that transaction inputs are owned by the same person.

My questions then are:

A) Does a wallet not necessarily have one single public address?

B) If the a wallet has one specific public address used to receive funds then why wouldn't a person be able to simply look at a wallet address, identify the transaction outputs going into and the transaction inputs coming out of that wallet, rather than trying to infer through a process that is more uncertain?

C) If a wallet has multiple public addresses, wouldn't this really mean there are multiple addresses?

D) Is it possible to look at a transaction on a block explorer and identify the wallet that was used or only the individual input transactions that came from the wallet?

Thank you for any help you can give! This is really just making my mind go in circles. It is probably due to some misunderstanding I have RE: wallets and input transaction IDs.

❓Need Advice 🙏 I need some advice please

I recently fell victim to a task based jobs scam and lost about 2400$. I’ve been in touch with a recovery manager saying that they can trace my funds through blockchain and return it into metamask. This is the email he sent me. I got the confirmation from the investigation department. They said your funds were found based on your name and your email.

Still, I asked them to reconfirm the wallet and the assets based on your digital traces and the wallet addresses that you provided.

Now I am sure that the wallet is correct. What about you? Have you added the $1500 to your crypto.com?

If yes, let us finish the withdrawal today. I asked why I needed to deposit the 1500$ to my crypto. com and he sent this back.

Yes of course, basically you will make this transaction for a short period of time to your metamask so the blockchain can match your current digital trace with the digital trace of the stolen funds. When they are matched, your sepolia will be taken away by blockchain and the equivalent of it will be deposited to your metamask's ETHmainnet network then you can withdraw the ETH out to your crypto.com and from there to your bank account by E-transfer.

Should I trust him or is this another scammer?
