I recently learned about this and watched season 1, to which I really enjoyed. That got me thinking - have they ever considered folding in the Sandman characters into the rest of the DCU? Just like how they started integrating Watchmen characters with the other DC character story arcs? That would be so cool!

As per the current DC continuity the endless are part of the DC universe. The new history of the dc universe says that explicitly. Even in the Sandman graphic novel you have Martian Manhunter, Scott Free and Batman showing up.

What??? Wow that's amazing. I'm going to have to visit a comic shop and get rekindled with all of this. It's been a long while.

In one of the first few issues, they go to Arkham. They cut this from season one.

Nope because of it being separate from the start and because of Neil. That screwed everything up for The Sandman and might cause it to not be used again for years.
Also it's one of the reasons we didn't get John Constantine. They was originally gonna use him until DC said no because they were planning to do Justice League Dark.

Huge fan of the books. First season was decent maybe a 6.5 out of 10, but (part 1) of the second season felt much more comic-accurate. Looking forward to watching part 2
