As a GL fan I’m hopeful for the show and I desperately need it to succeed.

I’m a Superman fan, but I am right there with you because the Green Lantern mythology, IMO, is the best in all of the mainstream DC. frankly, I don’t think there’s such a thing as too much Green Lantern content.

I adore supes, and Batman is amazing….but we have a TON of content with them. I understand why and it makes sense. But I really want t people to see what I see in GL.

I’m not an especially big GL fan but the fact they haven’t made Dex-Starr a household name already is maddening.

I love these movies. I don’t give a fuck how much they make.

you should care because that is the only way we get more of these movies
if they don't make enough it all slows down a lot or completely stops
although for Superman it's already at a good enough point with money made

It makes zero sense how james gunn announces that domestic sales werent doing well because of american sentiment in the 2nd week of box office release, then all of a sudden the sales increase after that but fail worldwide. Warner bros is paying these domestic tickets. Movie was a flop

You’re right that doesn’t make sense because the domestic numbers are great. 3rd highest of the year so far.

But if the movie is so good, why wont people worldwide watch it? Makes zero sense. Artificial numbers

Sorry this just doesn’t make any sense. Sometimes movies are more successful in one demographic compared to others. Not even the first time we saw this happen this year. Sinners was also a major domestic success while barely making any noise internationally, same with Wicked from last year.

Superman is loved internationally. Sinners appeals to a demographic specifically. And especially wicked, that only appeals to the theatre kids.

Gunn fans with an out of the blue Snyder slight. Comon bruv. Be happy Gunns film is doing fine. Sheesh.
Edit: every time Gunn fans shit on Snyder for no reason they delete their comment when called out. Literally every single time, and they wonder why there's a split with fans.

I think you should focus on understanding the words you're using before trying to look clever with them, as well as reading what you're referring to to make sure you're actually making sense.
Domestic means US based. James Gunn's comments about anti-American Sentiment were in regards to international box office takes. The Domestic box office was about what was expected. International was lower but they understood and considered why.
One could then extrapolate based on the feedback of the film that despite said anti-American sentiment, the reason it's had some legs internationally is that people heard the film was good and went to see it.

Different times and different expectations .. 2010s were the golden age of comic book movies. after Covid, comic books lost the Chinese Market and won’t ever get it back

Looks like a Superman movie with Superman still fails. What’s your point?

Supergirl, Clayface, the Superman follow up and The Batman Part II (although not DCU) are all next.
If all of those land, DC might see one of the best comebacks they had.
