DISCUSSION Superman Shirt Rip

Post image

I know James Gunn said that Corenswet's Superman doesn't wear his costume under his clothes, but would that be something fans want to see in the future, or do you guys think we have seen enough of the iconic shirt rip? I would love to see Corenswet do it seeing as how it's an iconic part of Superman history, but i wanted to know everyone else's thoughts.

He'd need something thinner i think

With a lower collar too, otherwise you'd see it sticking out from underneath his shirt.

But wasn't there a suit in recent comics that retracted inside the chest emblem? I feel like I remember seeing a panel where he did the classic shirt pull to reveal the emblem, at which point the rest of the suit spread across his body.

That could be something that could work to have the classic shirt pull, without changing the suit up too much. But it could also be too similar to all the nanotech suits Marvel have done in their recent films, which a lot of fans have said that they're sick of.

Yeah, I must admit while the concept sounds cool. It does just sound like that suit disc that ant-man used in quantumania

That's what I was thinking yeah, that it'll just seem like them continuing to overuse nanotech. It was cool when they first brought it in with Black Panther and Iron Man, which also made sense for them as they already had access to advanced technology. But then everyone else got it after that and it wasn't cool anymore. As Syndrome said, once everyone's super, no one will be.

And it would also depend on what the origin of Supermans suit is. If it's something Ma Kent made for him then it wouldn't make sense for it to have that technology. But if it's Kyrptonian in origin, which could be likely with Kara also wearing a similar style of suit and the amping of damage that it seemed to take, then it would make sense for it to have that technology.
