Honestly, I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. It's far from a great movie, nor is it even a particularly well written comic book movie but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and for what it was. Like many, I couldn't stand the kid. I'm already not too high on child actors in anything unless they absolutely knock it out of the park like Dafne Keen did in Logan, and Dafne Keen this kid was not. Far and away the main thing about this movie that I didn't like. Beyond that, Black Adam is a bad, bad man. DC has really nailed making their strong heroes (and villains and whatever Adam is/is going to be) actually feel like, terrifyingly powerful. That seen where he casually strolls through a hail of bullets and explosions repositioning things ever so slightly that inter gang gets screwed by their own stuff in flash time perfectly illustrated the casualness in which a Black Adam or Superman should be able to annihilate an entire armored squadron. And a lot of his fight scenes were pretty cool.

Atom Smasher and Cyclone were criminally underutilized and the villain being the villain was obvious from like, immediately after the flashback with the King that he was the descendent (they somehow have like, the same hair and hairstyle despite being separated by 5000 years), but I feel like Dr. Fate and Hawkman make up for it.

These two are probably my new favorite DCU characters as of now. Pierce Brosnan just gives Dr Fate this aura of calm composure and charisma. Loved every minute he was on screen. And Hawkman? Aldis Hodge knocked it out of the park and turned a rather, uh, lame character (sorry Hawkman fans, I'm sure there's dozens of you out there somewhere) into like, a badass hybrid between Iron Man/Batman (billionaire Mr money bags hero and tech), Black Panther (the almost ethereal almost mystical like quality of his technology), and Wonder Woman (with the older style armor, weapons, and that kind of warrior spirit he displays in battle). And GODDAMN did they make him strong! Really didn't expect him to give Adam as much trouble as he did before he busted out the super speed. I really hope DC gives these two more screen time in subsequent movies or hopefully in their own. They also had great chemistry with each other and the Rock respectively.

Came here for a comment on Hawkman, finally found yours!

Never gave 2 seconds of my time to him but he was TOP TIER in this! Love it, gave me also a Captain America (my favourite Marvel hero) vibe for some reason.

Because he's a direct rip-off of Falcon maybe? Since when is Hawkman not an alien from Thanagar?

Mainly know Aldis Hodge from Leverage. He really impressed me as Hawkman.
