Connections:

Main antagonists of gory series that started as more sane scientists researching their soon to be main ability that would change lives (Dissonance / Portal-Warping) however one day would end up becoming corrupted and disfigured by said abilities, altering their minds for the worst, turning them into deranged, insane and hateful monsters

They developed an obsessive hatred towards the main protagonist (Hank / Mark Grayson) for who they blame for causing harm on them (Hank killing Tricky various of times / Mark supposedly being the one that disfigured Angstrom) [although Hank actually did that while Mark didn't] and would sworn revenge against them, being obsessed with killing them, to acquire this goal they always pursue the protagonist no matter what

Both are heavily tied to alternative realms, to the point of both being THE main representative of said realms within the series (Hell / The Alternative Universes), said alternative realms are also tied to them always coming back despite being thought dead (Tricky leaving hell / Angstrom fleeing to an alternative universe to heal himself)

They play an opposite role of the hierarchy of villains of their series, Tricky, originally Dr. Hofnar, was just a cog in the machine, and later as Tricky would work to the main villain, Auditor, being his main servant, however Tricky would rebel against Auditor for his own agenda; While Angstrom, would gather alternative Invincible variants in promise of power, using them to wreak havoc, being the boss, a horrible one, however the Invincible Variants would revolt against Angstrom
