You could use Outer Goku and like Solar System Superman and Superman would still massively outhax and regen/immortality diff this shit is not “debatable” at all.
If they specifically used pre-Ultimate Buu Saga Gohan and don’t give him the absurd speed advantage they gave Bardock then maybe they can make it look close.
By scaling Mark to the sun disk feat, they can get him to star level and Death Battle uses their intergalactic flight to get the Viltrumites to MFTL speeds.
Even pre-Ultimate Buu saga Gohan should outscale this, but they might be able to make it seem closer.
The intergalactic flight shouldn't count, tho as Viltrumites have never used that speed in combat, heck even Red Rush was able to hit Omni Man a few times before getting caught to Nolan he should have been moving in slow motion if that were the case, it's not, meaning combat speed/reaction speed =/= travel speed.
I have a conspiracy theory that they had Omni-Man beat Bardock so that if they do this match up, the average viewer won't think it's as much of a stomp as it is
It's why I'm waiting for movie Metal to come out before I start making stuff for the MU, if he is consistent with his game counterpart in terms of themes and story then he should be a great opponent for MCU Ultron
I'm betting Shockwave, yeah both atr crazy with "This was my plan all along" but at the end of the day, no. 9 is just a biological parasite that yakes time to learn amd adapt, and Shockwave is an actual war machine, with far more experience, and as shw9n in his spotlight comic can quickly adapt to overwhelming odds. Not to mention Shockwave essentially created his version of Unicron.
I'm surprised nobody said this yet but Vergil vs Seshomaru is classic example. People joke about them being the exact same character but DMC is stupidly broken compared to Inuyasha.
technically you can get luke from legends to high outer via extreme wank, but that requires you to deliberately use vauge wording to misrepresent the source material in a way thet MIGHT make him 1-A. (but lets be honest hes probably solar system to multi solar system at best)
If you believe WCS dura negs, after seeing DKP regen, he’d eventually try to land a headshot WCS. If he manages to pull it off, he wins, and the speed gap isn’t that big for it to be possible. However, the massage range and ease of DKP’s win con (use power advantage and launch a giant ki blast in Sukuna’s general direction) makes it harder for Sukuna to land his win con (World Cutting Slash to DKP’s head).
The main issue is that unless Sukuna does a binding vow (his anti Piccolo technique), he still needs to chant, meaning he can just outright be interrupted.
Yeah, Namekians apparently can’t regenerate when their head is destroyed, so you just need to destroy it to win. However, it relies on you thinking WCS dura negs and for you to use EM wave for Sukuna’s speed for it to be debatable. If you don’t do either or both, then DKP stomps.
The WCS isn’t dura-neg it’s just that Sukuna is stronger than everyone else and even if it is Dura-Neg it can be dodged and takes time to cast so King Piccolo could just dodge it
That’s why I specified the ease of DKP’s win con. Even if you say both have win cons and are similar in speed, the fact that one of them has a was easier win con than the other just makes it easy to find out who wins.
depending on what you buy for both sides, you can very easily get this MU to be close, essentially just saying Roshi blowing up the moon is an outlier and DKP wouldn't scale to it, or wank JJk off Yuki's black hole, someone else pointed out WCS dura negging could be a good wincon for Sukuna
honestly just talking about it makes me like it more
Symbols of hope that draw power from the sun, who hide their goofy/trolling personalities behind a veil of stoicness and who struggle with using their immense power in the right way.
You have two goofy trolls who pretend to be serious most of the time, the banter is great.
There’s a whole bunch of connections; both have hit someone so hard it echoed through time, both act as cosmic lynchpins for their realities, both have a close friend who is a more serious protector of the night who guide children to not repeat their mistakes (while also having fought in the past before reconciling), both have love lives that act as prime examples of the struggles caused by their double lives as hero and person, both utilize disguises to maintain their private life, etc.
Celestia does have some advantages (generally higher range, ability to exploit every single Superman weakness, better survivability, etc) but Superman stat checks her too hard for her to win.
She has transmutation magic/magic to just create things, plus she has pretty solid mind magic so she could conceivably learn about it to create it, even some of the more dangerous variants.
Had would be the better description. Like most things in Celestia’s life, it blew up in her face.
Long story short, them being together would threaten the stability of both of their universes due to their power (strong magic passing between worlds was an issue that could tear apart the fabric of reality). The mirror world Sombra ended up having to absorb the corruption of his universe’s Celestia and Luna, driving him insane while Celestia clung to him and begged him not to do it.
I think most matchups I like end up being one sided or ridiculous clear cut, I like Liu Kang vs Jago and it’s in my top five most wanted matchups but Fire God definitely turned it into a stomp in LK’s favor.
But hey I don’t think stomps are inherently bad, it just depends in my opinion-
Does the loser have some advantages? Like skill, experience or even a potential wincon that they don’t have the stats to use?
Does it bring down the animation potential? If character A doesn’t just immediately shut down character B’s entire moveset then it’s fine by me.
Is it out of spite or feel mean spirited? This is up to interpretation but I think there’s a difference between seeing Jago get stomped compared to Homelander or Mahito. (Not saying I ever support spite in a matchup, it’ll always bring it down.)
How big of a difference is it with the stats? Like yeah a wall level character vs an Outerversal one is dumb but a Universal one against a Multi isn’t THAT bad to me.
Ngl, the potential track names make the debatablity of the matchup obsolete, 'Don't keep the devil waiting' is the ULTIMATE showcase of both the characters
I’ve always preferred “The Devil’s Done Waiting” Don’t Keep The Devil Waiting is just what Henry said, The Devil’s Done Waiting is just that smidge better
Siffrin vs The Long Quiet. Love everything else about it but the fact it’s such a comical level of a stomp convinced me to make my own Siffrin matchup.
Dean Winchester vs Nick Burkhardt its my dream MU for both but depending on how Nick's staff is interpreted he cant be killed or even have his soul taken so he can just beat the hell out of Dean no problem.
Prime video has it. Although I will say if you like using captions for shows you will miss some of the interactions in the other language sprinkled in the story but for the most part it doesn't effect the story much regardless just giving a headsup.
SpongeBob has better stats. SpongeBob has counters to 90% of Gumball’s arsenal (Krabby Patties counter Gumball’s numerous forms of mind control, his naturally positive energy would cancel out Gumball’s SJW powers, being able to manipulate the fourth wall means it’s unlikely SpongeBob would stay in the void even if Gumball got him in there, etc.), SpongeBob can put Gumball down for good by erasing him with the magic pencil.
And yet, it is so peak. Literally just a more fun Rick vs. The Doctor.
Gumball can just come back from existence erasure. Gumball cna also age him back, just turn him off, transmute him, manipulate the canon, etc, etc. Will reveal more in the Gumball blog coming soon.
As much as I love David he gets easily defeated by Uzi as she literally scales to Solver Users like Yeva who blocked an explosion you can see from orbit not only that but David’s sandevistan literally means nothing when Uzi has shown she could react to lasers
A recent one i thought of was Simon the Digger vs Hiro & Zero Two (Gurren Lagann vs Darling In The Franxx)
Both are mecha anime that get really fucking crazy with main character who gets their drive from another character (Simon from Kamina and later Nia, Hiro and Zero Two from each other) and they both end up facing cosmic enemies that threaten to destroy Earth
Only thing is...Hiro & Zero Two manage to cross galaxies to destroy the enemy...over a matter if years
Simon however managed to extend beyond multiple universes in less time, and that's not even going over his spiral power feats. Simon just destroys here
Godzilla vs Gamera kinda. It doesn’t fit banter because neither can talk and core theme might be a stretch. It focuses a lot on Godzilla’s silly side and less on his tragic side. Godzilla brutally stomps so hard that it’s not even remotely funny. Like, he stomped even when his episode came out, but now he just wins even harder. He’s got a bunch of new stuff while Gamera only has a short film and a pretty good anime since Godzilla vs Gamera.
Naraku (Inuyasha) Vs Muzan Kibutsuji (demon slayer)
Naraku is on some old school BS anime villain abilities and absolutely dog walks Muzan without a doubt (as a joke/out of pettiness he cursed a bloodline to have slowly expanding black holes in their hands (yes this occasionally comes back to bite him)
Samara Morgan Vs Sachiko Shinozaki (The Ring Vs Corpse Party). The connections are pretty solid, banter isn't much since they rarely talk, and the core theme is perfect. The only issue is that depending on whether or not Samara has access to her dimension and technology would determine just how likely she is to get torn apart.
Persona has a lot of these… mostly because the characters stories and personalities are quite grounded in reality (-Jrpg stuff)… but its verse is just so insane with where you can get it
Like I have a few Match up ideas but they just WOULDN’T work…
It's Peter with, like, building on average feats to Taylor who relies on bug swarms and is generally around human-peak human. Stomp doesn't affect the AP tho, so idrc. If it was something like Mark vs Gohan where Mark pushing Gohan to SSJ or any of his forms beyond that felt forced, THAT would feel off.
Even as someone who insists Miles vs Deku isn’t as one sided as people make it out to be, that initial strength gap makes it hard to counter any arguments without sounding like “But erm ackshully 🤓☝🏾”
A particularly bad example though was a matchup I thought of once and I'm not even going to dedicate a post to it due to how bad of a stomp it was.
Ajna (Indivisible) vs Lily (Ender Lilies)
Both have themes of self-sacrifice. Two children who were supposed to be left to die for the good of their worlds but selfishly kept alive and raised in spite of that, and ultimately came back to save their worlds. Both also utilize the assistance of people they encounter on their respective journeys in combat.
While Lily's spirits generally cannot banter, I imagine Ajna's companions would have alot of self contained discussion about how Lily will inevitably be in more and more pain as the fight progresses, to the point where some might specifically withdraw (Thorani comes to mind) while Umbral Knight's steadfast nature alongside the other spirits' continued offense would prevent peaceful disengagement.
Now for where they both scale...
Lily's biggest highball is small country level. and that feat is a STRETCH to say the least. She's more realistically like...wall level
Meanwhile Ajna is just straight up universal. Able to defeat someone who just...recreates the universe every so often.
Forget atom bomb vs coughing baby, this is the big bang vs actively dying baby.
Yeah this is Mr. Nobody vs Misogi Kumagawa. No just because Misogi also has plot hax doesn't mean it evens out, Morden just has every ability Misogi has but better.
And to add insult to injury, this is the one matchup he would like to hit bookmaker on... and the only one were it wouldn't work.
99% Sure no one ever before brought up this matchup.
But it's Springtrap/William Afton from Five Nights at Freddy's and Junko from Touhou Project.
The connections are;
Both used to be parents but lost their children under tragic circumstances.
Both show the extremes of emotions, one being Agony and the other Hate.
Both are extremely persistent threats, that shrug off abuse like a impenetrable wall.
Both are overarching antagonists, though tbf Junko is the overarching antagonist of only one game while Springtrap is the antagonist of the entire franchise.
But not to mention they are also the complete opposites in terms of personality. With Junko going mad and persistent for her child, while Will is just murder happy maniac that could lead to some exquisite banter.
They also share supernatural elements, Remnant, Souls while Junko has literal magic.
But. You know. It would literally be less than 60 seconds theoretically.
