People think that new scientific discoveries are "nerfing" it like it isn't an actual animal current spinosaurus is far more interesting and cooler than an oversized baryonyx(no disrespect to my baby boy) with back bling
Nah he's cooler like this plus he's still in the top 5 largest carnivores to ever walk the planet
It's main prey would be fish as big as a car and it had to defend itself against large crocodylomorphs and carcharodontosaurids and especially based on the amount of teeth we recovered was clearly successful
you can buy spinosaurus teeth for at lowest around 10 GBP meaning they're abundant and while that is in part due to good depositional environments they were clearly doing something right if they're that common
In conclusion don't diss my boy for having style he's not a bum he's just the goat and it's an animal not a movie monster evolution doesn't care for what we think is cool you just gotta appreciate it for what it is
(I can't read Spanish? but use deductive reasoning)
An animal with very scant remains whose major fossils were destroyed in ww2.
It was portrayed as an unstoppable monster in JP3 but subsequent discoveries have knocked it down while new t rex discoveries basically made t rex go from 6 to 9 tons and go super saiyan.
The "nerfing" aspect is mainly from enthusiasts upset that their favourite murder dino was less murdery than thought initially.
But it's more of a case of too many people studying the same animal from extremely fragmentary remains and coming to their own conclusions.
This thing is actually super common in paleontology but Spinosaurus got the spotlight due to its popularity.
Lets not forget, Spinosaurus was still a formidable dinosaur in every aspect.
It is still considered among the largest theropod dinosaurs to have ever lived, it hunted fish the size of small cars, had industrial meat hooks for claws and it is the only theropod to have lived alongside another gigantic theropod (Carcharodontosaurus).
Its just that people compare it to T. Rex which is literally the biggest and strongest theropod there is in the fossil record.
GR Solos unless he stupidly attempts to use the penance stare on the Spinosaur, that thing's just an animal trying to survive and as such, regrets nothing.
Much like the Spino vs Rex matchup, the terrain would shift the matchup to either side's favour.
Hellfire chains would have almost no effect on a Spinosaurus and would just be like trying to kill it with a spear. Ghost Rider's motorcycle will just flood out, and the Spino is obviously immune to the Penance Stare because again, not only is it not a sapient being, but also because it would most likely fail at a mirror test. And Spino is literally the largest theropod to ever live, so I'm sure a Spino could tank the damage from Ghost Rider's weapons.
Spinosaurus has evolution ability, meaningit can constantly gain new abilities. And while inferior, it does somewhat scale to a pre-amped T.Rex making it low Omnipotent. Yeah Spino clears

Ghost Rider: Feel the pain of everyone you've ever terrorized!
Spino: Oh, the animal that I have become! *tanks it because he regrets his actions too much*
Ghost Rider: somebody get me through this nightmare *dies*
