General Everything from the Renegade livestream Spoiler

Upvotes

We’re are returning to Mars to face a new Cabal faction called the Baron Imperial, but we will be getting some assistance from some of the crime syndicates, including a new friendly Vex faction. The Cabal are constructing a weapon and we need to destroy it. The Nine are involved in this cabal faction and Dredgen are involved as well. In addition, the Cabal somehow manages to create a Walker vehicle similar to the Fallen Brig. Anything I’m missing?

General Heresy - new leader of the deep

Upvotes

I completely forgot, whatever came of that other dark force that was being birthed by the leaderless taken, I remember speculation of maybe it was one of the nine being summoned? ORYX even said he felt another power /force in The Deep.

General Project Clotho - the string that canonically ties Destiny: Rising to the mainline Destiny franchise

Before we dive into it, for those that are unfamiliar Destiny:Rising takes place in an alternate universe that is post-Collapse but pre-City Age. While there are numerous pieces of lore/characters/concepts that are similar and fit right in to the main universe, there are tons of differences (for example giant robots fought massive ahamkara).

Now things get interesting when it comes to exotic weapons, there are 8 brand new to the franchise exotics and 12 that Destiny players would be familiar with. Each of the new one’s has a standard piece of flavor text and lore tab, but the returning one’s all have related flavor text, in the format of “Retrieval Record 00xx: xxxth Solar Day — [Location, Location]”. For example, Crimson, is “Retrieval Record 0014: 247th Solar Day — The Last City, South America”.

More interestingly, the lore tabs of the returned exotics all feature stories around “Project Clotho” a project that involves sending Lightbearers to OTHER TIMELINES in order to borrow/steal/recover exotic weapons. While some of these are likely alternate-alternate universe’s (one location is Spider’s grave, the Reef), some of these timelines are heavily implied to be the main Destiny Universe. Crimson being amongst the strongest implications. See the lore tabs for example:

Crimson D2

"This is crazy! You don't need this thing. I can heal you; that's my whole job."

"I thought your job was to state the obvious."

"What?"

"Oh, come on. Ever since you found me, it's been, 'Watch out, Fallen ahead!' when they're right in front of me. Or, my favorite: 'Seems like the door's locked.' Is it? Really? I couldn't tell. And when it's not that, you say I need to be more self-sufficient in case we lose the Light again. So here's my answer. Here's the remedy."

"I was just trying to help."

Meanwhile in Rising

"This is crazy! You don't need this thing. I can heal you; that's my whole job." Hazel expands her shell in an aggressive display, blocking her Lightbearer Samuel's face. He tries circling around her, but she nimbly moves to the other side, blocking him again.

"I thought your job was to state the obvious." Samuel returns the gun to its holster, crossing his arms across his chest as he leans against the door frame. There's an unnamed, wicked fire flaring in his heart. He'd almost won that match. Now, he has to find a way to explain to those bloodthirsty gamblers why their money's been flushed down the drain—unlike at Shaxx's Crucible, those lunatics have no qualms about getting their hands dirty, nor any rules to speak of.

"'What”

"Oh, come on. Ever since you found me, it's been, 'Watch out, Fallen ahead!' when they're right in front of me," Samuel shouts. His mind is elsewhere now, but footsteps cut his complaining short. His heart sinks, and his right hand moves for his holster as a barrage of questions swirl in his head. Those bastards wouldn't be crazy enough to attack right under Shaxx's nose, would they? Who would bear the consequences of starting a fight on Shaxx's turf? Does this break area have any exits aside from the stairs in front of him?

A relatively short woman—unarmed, he notes-then rushes over and stands before him. The first question out of her mouth is, "Samuel, right?"

Samuel tries taking a few steps towards the stairs, attempting to switch positions with the woman. She seemingly has no intention of stopping her.

"Who's asking?" he responds tentatively. She looks aggressive, but not unreasonable.

"I'll keep it short and sweet." She points at Samuel's holster. "Give me that gun of yours, and I'll take care of your problems for you. ALL your problems.”

Or, maybe it’s just an alternate alternate universe that was stepped into, one that’s almost identical to the mainline franchise.

We know Bungie consulted with NetEase regarding a few aspects of the game, lore included. So at the very least, this is likely as close to official confirmation that we’ll get, that the Last City is in South America

Question Confused about the lore, quick question.

So the big light and dark saga is over.

The edge of fate campaign seemed to touch on a new sort of lore that was a bit confusing to me but that’s not what my question is about.

Why is the next update star wars themed? Is this next update just like “for fun? Star Wars themed cool stuff” or is star wars somehow going to be apart of the destiny lore now lol.

Question Were the veil and savathuns song ever explained?

I haven’t played destiny since lightfall and I just had a thought randomly about the veil and savathuns song. The veil was apparently the darkness version of the traveler and savathuns song was supposed to be something crazy hypnotizing people and even in the soundtrack of shadowkeep. But nothing ever crazy happened except the veil shooting the traveler and savathuns song just went silent when the witch queen dropped.

General It feels nice to see a powerful guardian in action

Ikora Rey has always been such a cool character to me, being a top fifth sigma guardian or whatever. She feels like the gojo of Destiny.

Although Destiny Rising is a different story and Ikora is different, it feels nice see a fraction of a "powerful" guardian. There's also Kabr and his shield! Thats cool as well.

General Syzygy back in action?

Is it possible that the end goal of the saga would be to bind the nine through syzygy? My incomplete theory is we force the planets into alignment somehow and the concentration of dark matter leads of to somewhere but whether it is back in time or to unknown space I can’t tell!

Question Was the Vex takeover of Io a reference to “The Very Pulse of the Machine” by Michael Swanwick?

The story I’m talking about is a 1998 science fiction short story in which 2 astronauts crash land on Io, and one of them dies. The other one has to walk to a checkpoint, carrying the body of her dead colleague, but the whole time, she’s unsure if she’s hallucinating or if Io is somehow speaking to her. It’s heavily implied (pretty much confirmed) that Io is a sentient machine in this story. Just curious if the writing team took any inspiration from it.

Question If maya is going to the plaugelands to gain access to old siva tech or the remnants of the warsat network, wouldn't it just be eaiser if she goes to Neo Muna and Mars?

Now this is me just assuming that the reason why she is invading the plaugelands is to gain access to siva tech but wouldnt it make more sense if she invades Neo Muna?

For one the whole place is made from upgraded siva and vex tech add ontop of that with the constant vex presence she could easily convert all the vex to her side and lock the whole city down. On top of that she'd also have access to the Veil which would make her pretty much unstoppable.

And if she's in the plaugelands to gain access to whatever is left of the Warsat Network couldn't she just go to the main rasputin facility on Mars to gain access? Mars also has the Golden Age rifts that she could take advantage of and we all know Maya loves the Golden Age. Surely thats easier than digging about in a run down Rasputin bunker.

General Maya’s intentions in the plaguelands

We destroyed the replication chamber in Rise of Iron and Rasputin died in Seraph, which means SIVA is by all accounts gone because it does not have anything COMMANDING it.

Here is where Maya comes in. Perhaps through the power of the Echo of Command it could rewirte SIVA’s commands and awake it. If we fail, we’d probably see a vexified version of SIVA implemented into the Choral Vex’s biology.

What do y’all think? I’m most likely coping lol.

General Ash & Iron trailer

Okay so, the trailer just dropped out of nowhere and here’s my analysis….

🟥⬛️🟥⬛️🟥⬛️🟥 SIVA IS BACK BABY!!!/j

Okay, okay, jokes aside… SIVA technically is in the trailer, but the red wires we see are frozen over and inactive.

According to the dialogue and footage, Maya Sunderesh has began invading the plague lands, which I was not expecting at all. She’s also commanding Red Legion members.

The description blurb for the trailer says “The Conductor has breached the heart of the Vanguard’s power. Return to the Plaguelands, secure powerful Golden Age salvage, and defend Earth in the new Reclaim activity.”

….I have no clue what the Plaguelands has to do with the vanguard’s “heart” but whatever.

There’s also a new exotic quest called “warsat heist”, which from the footage seems to be the choral vex invading a Warmind facility in the plaguelands, with the guardians getting support from Caiatl’s psions. Kinda feels like a sequel to season of the seraph’s heists and spire of the watcher. Speaking of which, I thought Red’s death was supposed to deactivate everything in the Warmind network, but apparently whatever is in the plaguelands is salvageable for us and Maya.

Also now we get to pilot brigs and the Iron Lord axe is enhanced via technology.

…..anyway, WE WON SIVA GANG!!! SEASON OF THE PLAGUE FOREVER!!! ⬛️🟥⬛️🟥⬛️🟥⬛️ SIVA DENSITY CRITICAL AAAAAA-

Question Is there life outside of Sol?

From what I’ve read, the Witness’s crusade lasted billions of years, allowing it, the Black Fleet, Rhulk, Nezarec, and the Hive to exterminate life across the universe.

But when the Witness and its forces arrived in Sol to confront the Traveler, instead of running like it did with every other race, it stayed and fought because, according to the Witness, it had nowhere left to run.

I’m assuming that means there aren’t any races left to fight off the Witness, ergo, there isn’t any life outside of Sol left?

Question Ikora side mission

So you go around on a mission to find briefcases with axion bolts in them. My question is does this mission confirm that Ikora made the graviton lance before she was a guardian?

Question Can a lightbearer Exo be reset?

I know that the general “safe” amount of resets is under 20. However we know of a few lightbearers who are beyond that but they were beyond that amount of resets before becoming lightbearers. Can a lightbearer exo be reset? Is the safe amount increased because of being a lightbearer?

Question Is there any mention of a "nine" connected to Kepler?

If the nine are dark matter entitys tied to the gravity of major objects in our system shouldn't Kepler have one?

Darkness How does darkness and perception work?

I know the reason for Strand manifesting as green strings is because the Guardian sees the concept of connection as strings, and a similar thing happened with Stasis due to Eramis's (or Elsie? Can't remember) view on the concept of control, but I'm confused about The Witness's involvement or the lack of it.

The Witness planned the Europa incident and all stasis came from The Witness's pyramid tech. ….but it doesn’t have control over the aspect of darkness that comes out of the splinters…? Yet Eramis can say it’s cosmic ice and suddenly it’s cosmic ice. As if The Witness, an entire civilisation, hasn’t been aware of it or somehow didn’t have enough imagination to link the concept with a physical object. Even though The Witness is the biggest control freak in existence and has several control associated minions not far behind.

Then there’s Strand, manifesting as strings because the guardian associates connection with strings, even though we had an entire season dedicated to a darkness plant of connection called Egregore. Calus directly connected himself to Egregore, but he doesn’t notice the “connection” when he lands on Neptune, somehow the talks about Egregore hasn’t rubbed off on The Guardian, The Witness presumably has been using it for a while and even killed species who used “connection” too, and several other people have been interacting with The Veil…

But The Guardian “discovers” it by just taking a step on Neptune, and The Witness is just watching The Guardian using Strand like “oh shit, new darkness element dropped! I gotta put that in the rule 63 Rhulk clones!”

General Deborence

This is a post about the loretab of Melas Panoplia and the Les Diablerets incident. I looked up the history of the mountain in the Alp Valley and found out something interesting.

In the loretab we find out that skiers reported to have seen something on the backside of Les Diablerets that involved a Emerald-727.

With the backside of Les Diablerets they probably mean the southside of the mountain, because the small town Les Diablerets is in the north of the mountain, so the backside should be the south of the mountain and on that side happened two earthslides in 1714 and 1749. Before there were a lot of lived in settlements, Godet and Deborence, further down the mountain. In the 1714 earthslide 55 huts were destroyed and 14 people died. People thought the earthslide was the work of the devil and a priest from Ardon came to exorcise the devil. The mountains got the name they have now, Les Diablerets (translated from french something like "devils trap").

In the 1749 earthslide 40 more huts were destroyed and the debris from the earthslide created a dam on the lake of Deborence. With the believe Deborence was cursed people went away from Deborence and the place was left mostly untouched by humans and grew naturally for 300 years. To this day Deborence is mostly empty with debris from back then, alluvial sand from the lake that was once there and spruce that grew in the time.

The events of the first earthslide were the bases of a novel with the name Deborence) by Charles Ferdinand Ramuz. The novel was later adapted as a movie.

I find it interesting, because in Destiny these events could be the origin of Nezarec on earth. A ship crashed in the mountain and created the earthslide (first, second or both). It had a bodypart of Nezarec on it which lead to nightmares all across the region of Deborence. People of Deborence felt cursed not only by the tragedy, but by Nezarec too. They all left with time, but maybe a small group remaind and created the acolytes of Nezarec. For generations they remaind in Deborence and strenghtened their believe and fear of Nezarec and created the book "Of Hated Nezarec".

In Melas Panoplia they found something redacted in the file. It sounds like a ship with a labratory in it. And there was a payload of something that was well-engineered (It is probably "well-engineered", because "well" fits the best to the blank) to consume some kind of threat. This threat to consume could be a peace of Nezarec. We only know of Nezarec peaces that Eliksni cut of Nezarecs body, but Nezarec died many times. Maybe someone took a peace of him after one of his deaths and tryed to search for a way to kill Nezarec permanently, or maybe contain him to control him. Like how Savathun trapped him during the collapse.

In the Books of Sorrow the three sisters found a needle ship which they used to travelel deeper into the deep and find the worm gods. That ship had a laboratory as well and had a different origin that hive/krill. Possiblely precursers. The probably-ship in Melas Panoplia seems to have Emerald-727 on it. I couldn`t find out what "727" means, but we can see pyramid ships have emerald on them (at least the colored stuff looks like emerald). It could lead to the ship in Les Diablerets being the ship the three hive siblings used.

There is also the name of the exotic armor. "Melas Panoplia" is greek and trnslates to "black full armor". It fits with the exotic armor being from the black armory, but it could also mean something for the loretab (there has to be a reason the loretab is on the armor with that name, right?). It could mean the laboratory with the threat is in a black full armor. Black like the pyramid ship and an armor that protects everything from what is inside, or at least was suppost to. The ship crashed and Nezarec was unleashed on the people of Deborence.

Although the needle ship is discribed to be gray which could be redconed, but could also say that it was not the needle ship and Savathun, but just a pyramid ship with a peace of Nezarec on it. We still don`t know how the tormentors came to be. Maybe the laboratory on the ship was there to consume the peace and creat the tormentors by the witness. In The Black Armory Papers the founders were confronted with a creature we still don`t know about, that has discribtion simulare to the tormentors. Maybe the tormentors were unleashed during the collapse and wandered around the Alps aimlessly.

Either way I think Deborence could be a good place for the origins of Nezarec in pre-golden age time.

Interesting sidenote: Emeralds are highly available in Habach Valley. The region is on the oposite end of the Alps than Les Diablerets. Interesting that you can find in lore emerald on Les Diablerets and probably on Habach Valley as well. The EDZ is also between them and in the middle of the Alps.

Question Help with couple of questions Spoiler

So, I am a writer and I happened to write a fan fiction for Destiny. In said story, the main character lost their limb during the fight with the Taken King.

How exactly can I explain the loss of said limb and the reason for its Exo limb replacement.

I got the idea after Asher Mir’s character with the Vex limb. Then remembered the Taken King.

So, let me state the questions

A.) Would it be plausible if the MC’s arm was infected by Taken energy during the last battle with Oryx, causing their Ghost the inability to regenerate it?

B.) And could it be replaced with an Exo’s arm?

Question Why does The Traveler risk a Ghost resurrecting a bad person instead of imbuing living heroes with Light? Spoiler

Amanda should've had a Ghost. Hawthorne, Kay - all civilians who have gone above and beyond most Guardians who've served the Vanguard.

Why not protect them and also enhance their capabilities? They've proven themselves, and just like Captain America's serum - it enhances what's already inside them. Instead, we risk a Ghost creating another Risen who turns evil or corrupt - a Warlord, a Dredgen et al.

There's precedence, after all: Shin Malphur.

Instead, we see Crow and Savathun be resurrected, which was a massive risk to us all. Also, are they not the only two we've seen be picked by a Ghost in the major Destiny cutscenes? (Not counting flashbacks!)

Question Sagira stole another ghosts guardian?

I was recently reading a lore entry given to me by a friend, - it's about two ghosts giving an interview. Apparently Sagira stole another ghosts Guardian (presumably Osiris)- Or at least that's what's implied. Could anybody let me know if there's another lore entry on this somewhere, perhaps an entry on Osiris Ressurection. Was there another ghost about to revive Osiris, or did Osiris have a ghost before sagira?

Q: What will you do if you never find a Guardian?

BALTHAZAR: I shall find a Guardian. The Traveler has willed it so.

PEACH: Did you get that in writing?

BALTHAZAR: It is true that some Ghosts die before finding their partners. If that happens to me, then I suppose I will "do" nothing, since I will no longer be. But I have faith.

PEACH: If I never find my Guardian, I'll go steal someone else's. I hear Sagira had a good time with that.

Question Has our Guardian ever canonically died?

Whether through in-game cutscenes or lore, are there any examples of our guardian dying and subsequently being revived? I can't think of any off the top of my head. (For the purpose of this question I am not referring to the Guardian's tomb in the Corridors of Time)

Question I’m still kinda newish on the lore scene but is the traveler the gardener or a piece of power of the gardener and if so will we ever have a dlc or have more lore cards or sum about it?

Feel like with all that’s going on in the destiny verse it jus makes me wonder like bro we still don’t know shi about the traveler to b fr fr😭 like we do but at the same time we don’t
