Discussion The comp weapon drop rates are pathetic
Two hours of playing tonight and zero drops of the comp weapon
I have a 8-1 record today and have been playing pretty well, but absolutely nothing to show for my effort
I’m honestly so frustrated right now. I don’t know why they choose to make this game so unrewarding to play. It feels like a chore and I’m not even getting anything for it
At least with the old comp rewards you knew you’d get a drop after 3 games. Now I’ve played 9 tonight and not a single one
Really good job Bungie, amazing changes this season. Please make your game FUN again. I want to never play it again right now

The best times in Destiny almost always corresponded with bungie being generous with loot. For whatever reason, they always revert back to being stingy. People asked for a grind and here we are. I, for one, have never liked grinding endlessly for something. I play more when the pathway to loot is more deterministic because I actually want to USE the gun. Now with this new gear nonsense if it took you until month 5/6 or whatever your roll is objectively worse a month later. It’s really baffling to me. Who asked for this?

The grind is what ultimately kills the game for so many people. Like last season I was chasing the void crucible pulse. By the time I finally got the resets and the weapon, I just didn't care anymore. Not just about the weapon, but the game. When I have to grind extra hard for one gun, it burns me out and no want to play at all.

This just reminds me of episode revenant. Had to wait for the stasis scout, then took almost to the end of the episode to get rimestealer/headstone roll, finally played with it only to realize it's shit.

Yep, crafting bad, grind GOOD! This is what people asked for, bungie just added an extra dose of their stingy sauce on top.

Yeah I think Bungie is trying to make comp as unrewarding as possible so they can fully axe the mode in the future. There's literally zero reason to not have the gun drop every match hell even every other match would be better than now. Going on a dry streak with no drops is just plain miserable.

Congrats, you played 3 times the games you would have than in the old system. Bungie got what they wanted.
Please stop playing if you are not enjoying the game in its current state. Weekly engagement and eververse revenue are the only things they’ve shown us they care about.

Finally had 3 matches queue consecutively for the first time in almost 5 days. Zero drops while going 2-1, leading scorer one game.
Borderlands is gonna be a fresh breath of air.

The drop rate scales with your rank At ascendant it’s 50% drop rate on wins EDIT: same drop chance win or lose

yeah I’m in gold so I’m sure that’s partly why. but regardless it shouldn’t be this low, even for a bum like me
if you win 50 percent of your games in ascendant, you will get one on average every 4 games which is somehow less often than the previous system
and that’s assuming you’re ascendant which isn’t really attainable for most people

I was wrong, turns out it’s 50% regardless if you win or lose. At rank gold it is 35% win or lose. Still not great for those who don’t like pvp I suppose

guess i was just super unlucky tonight to get 1 in 10 games :(

Pretty much. I am hovering between Plat I and II and get one at least every 3 matches. Finally got the headstone + firefly roll last night (no idea how much use it will get) and have solid pvp rolls now. Bye bye comp for now.

Yeah it's insane, there's already like a 10 minute queue at times and then the droprate is abysmal too.

u/anangrypudge 11h ago
Yeah the queue time is a real turnoff.
And when you finally get a game, your next 5 games will feature the exact same players, just shuffling the teams around.
And after that 5 games, you're back to a 10-min waiting time again.

Please just stop playing the game if you aren’t enjoying it, shit ain’t healthy

Finally got one after winning 9 games in a row and it was dismantled two seconds later
Im not playing this dogshit game mode again until they improve the drop rates (again)

This is why I'm not engaging with D2 at the moment. My time is not being respected, so I have gotten off the hamster wheel.

It was pretty good for about a week early in the DLC drop. They changed that you could get it for games played instead of only on wins. I got quite a few but not the "roll" I wanted. Then the next week at reset the drop chances seemed to drop drastically. I would play for 1-2 hours and get maybe 1 drop.
Bungie has gotta keep ya grinding. You might buy silver if you stay logged in you know.

This gun was a main reason I hit 450. I never got a 5/5 Rose, I never got a 5/5 Deadlock. I have servicable rolls. But spending all that time in comp and not getting a good drop was pure pain. I knew how miserable the drop rates were abysmal and getting a tier 5 Everytime was the only way to make sure the grind was as short as possible. My 5th drop was it, firefly headstone and Lone wolf keep away. Boom done thanks comp.

Scales with comp rank but I agree they should shower us with loot. Should be guaranteed on win + % chance for an additional drop. Potentially give 2 drops on win, really incentives the grind at least a lil bit
