This is a bad version this request, and will come back to bite us in the ass.

Bungie will Monkey Paw the shit out of this.

"Sure all bounties now have shared progression across fireteam members we've tripled the objective requirement for every bounty"

Needs a bit more finesse to the request:

  • Team based progression
  • Double the objective.
  • Make own kills count as 2 points
  • Make team kills count as 1 point.

Takes the same amount of time that it does currently if you end up soloing it or are working on a sniper bounty when no one in your team is. But you don't lose out if your teammates snag kills for similar bounties.

Or to even step back, it seems the design goal should be that you're excited if a Conquerer with season pass level 320 is in your team instead of wanting to just go to orbit.

It was so bad when I was trying to get champion kills that I put on sunset armor to tank my LL so I'd matchmake with new lights who won't just delete the champions with Lament.

Maybe that gets at another problem. Bounties should be aligned with the objective of the mode. We all complain about the people melting Champions, but that's the objective! The people trying to do their bounty look like clowns to their teammates.

This is 10x worse in gambit, where people trying to get their 25 melee bounty keep losing all their motes.

There is a second QOL for bounty progression that I would like to see added.

An incentive to win, for people who are just in it for the bounties.

Here is basically how this would look.

Essentially, by winning matches in crucible/gambit (strikes would have to have a time/score component) you reduce the total objective points needed to complete the bounties.

Per the example, someone needing 60 weapon kills could slog out the 60 weapon kills. ignoring objectives, and not playing to win.

Or

They could go for 15 kills per match playing to win, and complete the bounty in two matches!

The crucible weekly bounties already work like this, though not in the same way as the image suggests. They have complete matches and do objective X (get kills with arc abilities and supers, generate orbs of light, get kills with zone advantage, etc.), though I think changing the objectives for other bounties like Vanguard and Gambit to just strictly count team member action for progress too would help. 150 hive kills in strike playlist is a lot easier to finish in 1 strike if everyone's kills count and not just your own kills/assists.

though not in the same way as the image suggests.

Yep, I definitely consider this, the reason I went the opposite way (reducing the total needed vs. adding progresion) was a way to combat AFK players for sitting in matches and fully completing it.

150 hive kills in strike playlist is a lot easier to finish in 1 strike if everyone's kills count and not just your own kills/assists.

Should a weekly strike be able to easily be finished in 1 strike?

For objectives like arc kills in strikes, no, for enemy type or boss ones, yes, outside of the secondary objective already being to do 3 strikes. Either that or the enemy/boss objective should match the ordeal activity
