I'm really sad bc I named my tortoise Azymondias and he passed away a little over a month ago. It's gonna be really hard to get back to the show now.

I think it is a good but flawed show and maybe suffers a bit from being over ambitious. Also they changeelements fo the lore all the time, although it is bearable if you only focus on whats in the show and the official material and ignore their social media posts. Also I need to know why the Startouched where willing to kill a child of their own kind over a minor infriction but didn't intervene against Aravos for centuries after wards. The only thing killing me more is what is really behind canon events in spiderverse.

I liked the show. I hope they get their continuation from somewhere.
I think most of the "hate" it gets stems from valid criticism.
For instance, I think almost all of the show's problems stemmed from trying to be something for everyone. Even Avatar was not spread so thin.
You had mature themes like death, depression, and codependency mashed together with fart jokes for 6-to-8 year olds and it made both fail. And I'll get a hard wack from the Internet here, but it tried SO hard to be pandering/representative of social issues that sometimes it started to feel really forced and the things that made social challenges relatable just got lost (sexuality, gender identity, autism, physical disabilities, racism, etc).
But I still love the show. We can talk about all these things without it being "hate"

actually some people are pretty unreasonable about it. nobody said just because you didn’t like every single part means you’re hating, some people just actually seem nitpicky

Where there let downs and cringe moments? Yes Where there characters, tgat could have been improved/be more fleshed out? Definitly Interesting ideas and concepts that were forgotten or used too little? Yes
But it is still a good show, and I am looking forward for the dragon king (but I respect those who aren't)

so many people in the subreddits complain abt arc 2 a lot. ppl even went so far as to complain about the fact aaravos wanted revenge and it “made no sense” the way he was doing it

I mean I guess? He’s also an ancient star elf so I don’t pretend to understand his motives 🤣

they said it didn’t make sense for him to destroy the world bc “Leola loved it” but the point isn’t abt what she loves it’s what the cosmic order loved 💔💔 plus idk anybody who would think rationally when their daughter gets killed right in front of them. anyways I love TDP

Fart jokes? That's what you take offense to? Not the unfunny running gag of jelly tarts?

I think the greatest criticism is it isn't as good as avatar. I really enjoy the dragon prince. It's a uniaue island of fantasy in a sea of copy paste trope laden lugies with no grounding or substance. At least TDP tries to do some cool things, take plot in interesting directions, and is willing to make turns media in a similar category that would never go. The darker themes surrounding some characters are stuff you more so see in broody media or overly self serious fantasy.
Personally, i could go without some of the jokes or just leave them to the very front of the show. It gets harder to justify fart humor when the rest of the show feels like it grew up. It is very similar to Avatar episodes 1-3 vs. season 2 and onwards in which the characters (alongside the audience) grew up and matured.
