Also I’ve been sleeping without head protection for the first past week and i feel like they look better? I always thought sleeping without headwear would mess up the locs really bad

Sleeping w/o covering your locs will mess up your hair. THAT is one of the ways to get lint, dirt, & other foreign particles trapped in your locs(may also cause breakage unless you have silk pillowcases). I can even see quite a few white particles in your hair in both pics(maybe dandruff). Locs require MORE maintenance, not LESS. You should be washing your hair regularly(cold water helps with the locing process) & keeping your scalp moisturized. Healthy locs require healthy hair & a healthy scalp. Take good care or you will lose your hair

Alright ill start wearing my durag to sleep again and im also gonna invest into a bonnet, is black castor oil good enough for my scalp or do i need more than one oil ?

Try to keep your hair covered while sleeping & lounging around the house. You should use whatever oils work best for your scalp.
