Itโs been about 2 years since I started my locs. After the first year, I neglected my hair care due to personal issues, leading to problems like thinning locs from too much retwisting, not sleeping with a bonnet every night and lack of moisture. Since the start of year 2, I improved my routine by reducing dye and retwisting, since my locticianโs interlocking worsened the thinning. Iโve been retwisting myself and recently just did my second retwist two weeks ago. However, the loose hair around my locs has frizzed a lot, and the hair that I crocheted into the thinner locs keeps falling out. Should I go ahead and retwist it again or just wait another two weeks?

Hi, Iโm Grey. Iโm 34 years old, and I enjoy writing about various topics. Iโm involved in music and also create a comic. Iโve had locs since I was 19 or 20, and Iโve gone through three cycles of themโthis is my third. Nice to meet you all!

And if so whatโs the best way to start I want them medium thickness, Iโve been wanting dreads for a while now and Iโm still pretty new to dreads.
That being said i dont know what texture it good for dreads, i come from Dominican/ African decent, i know i have curly hair and it gets to an Afro but Iโm growing it out and wanna try something different, please help and bless you all.๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐ด๐ด

Hi people, i'm on this locs journey for 4/5 months now and i want to know if my locs have any problems. I made all locs by hand (no separation/reparts) and I'm retwisting frequently.
My major doubt is: its ok to not have locs that are thin on the root? I see most of the locs on the internet and none of them look like mine, so I'm wondering.
I will apreciate if you guys have any tips. Salve from Brazil ๐ง๐ท

Last night i put on 3 skull caps, a durag tied tight and a bonnet i still came to all of it off my head in the morning!?
Before you say use a satin pillowcase, I do but because i got a retwist im tryna lay my hair down so its not so stiff. So like genuinely what do i do??

Where do you keep your extra large hair ties you know the smaller ones fit around my wrist but what do I do with the big ones? Any ideas?

I got locs but i started with semi-freeforms using a twist king and got a retwist. So i have freeparts with a middle part, whenever i get 2 strands or a fresh retwist i feel like my face looks weird because of the places my hair drops. i have around 88 locs ish

No matter what I do...i look like a bum. A bum! So much dandruff. It snows hard! It's so fuzzy and long. Why?? I can't cut it off still. It's all I have. It's all I have by god. What's wrong with my locs?

They told me that they'll get thick after I wash them. Is that true? I just dont see how that's gonna happen. I'm gonna wash them tomorrow, but if it looks like they'll never expand then I'll just cut my loses and shave my head.

I have 5 1/2 month old starter locs and have had them in for a week so far. My scalp hurts a bit and I think I have some tiny bumps but not too itchy

Iโve been in the habit of putting my locs up in a messy bun , and one day I notice hair loss in the center . Am I too far gone for recovery ?
