Is this a braiser?

Yes! I will say that personally I find them a bit shallow for braising (despite the name). But they make wonderful skillets and casserole bakers.

I looks good for braising chicken thighs. Probably too shallow for most beef cuts.

Yes. This is fairly slutty. I do like using these from time to time Mainly winter. They are oven to table. Also good for simmer lemon. Rosemary. And perhaps some other herb of yiru choice as an air freshener. That’s what William Sonoma does.

Everything is a braiser is you used it as such, it's only a brazier if you use it to summon a familiar.

It is indeed and a good one at that! Braised chicken thighs omg. I miss mine so much!

No. I was just curious how OP uses that particular pan/lid combo. As another person posted, it’s shallow so it’s nice for casseroles and things like that.

The entire bottom is “crazed,” or covered in a web of cracks. Its also getting harder and harder to clean. I dont use it for braising. I use it as a skillet, to fry, and sauté. I use it a ton.
