About six months ago, I designed my own wallet and I’m considering launching it on Kickstarter this fall.

It’s called the FLUX Wallet. It’s made from aluminum and roughly the size and weight of a smartphone, it holds 15 EDC essentials: 2 to 3 cards, 1 to 2 bills or a band-aid, a light, USB flash drive, MICRO SD card and adaptor, pen, whistle, bubble level, key, acetaminophen pill, US quarter, toothpick, ferro rod, SIM card ejector, battery and tweezers. Has a satisfying click when the drawer slides in.

I’ve been carrying it daily for about a month now, and the response from friends and strangers alike has been awesome. Has anyone seen anything similar?

I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or support. AMA, roast it, hype it… I'm here for all of it.

I’m thinking the price point will land around $75–$100, with stretch goals like titanium screws and alternate accent colors beyond the current gray or adding a metric and imperial ruler lasered into the sides.

Depending on if I am wearing pants or not defines my carry. If I’m not wearing jeans my carry is considerably lighter.

Short story, I bought cheap wrenches to get a feel before buying the better made authentic. Come to find the are cheaper than expected.

So, I did what I could to fix one up because I'm still on that mission to get some use out of it before buying the real deal. I didn't realize until after putting it back together that I didn't shorten the bottom brass nut enough for them to close completely... There is a 1mm gap but that shouldn't be an issue.

Locks up sturdy, calipers are accurate and marks in MM(just add 1mm due to the jaw not fully closing). The black portion is plastic heat shrink tubing(for 18650 batteries), after shrinking it holds the bottom nut from moving out of the frame making it more sturdy for use. Sorry for the bad photos, a video would have done more justice.

Anyways, im pretty sure this knockoff wasn't meant to be used, but moreso just a fidget toy. Il find out more tomorrow after I test it bending aluminum sheets or whatever small tasks I find, maybe try opening a bottle.
