General Just got my first scooter

Post image

After browsing the sub for a week or so, making a post to ask for advice and reviewing the options given to me, Ive opted for the Segway Max G2. I just opened it, set it up and gave it the first test rides. As of now, I am very happy with my purchase. I spent $883 for the scooter (Best buy had it for $799 for Labor Day Sale instead of $1399), and a Hover 1 Helmet with a detachable visor (was on sale for only $10) so overall I feel like it is a good deal to pay $880 for a scooter that would otherwise be double in price. The suspension feels really good, the app is very intuitive and its honestly a blast. Thank you to everyone who took the time to write back on my post. Ill update in a few months and tell you all if I am still as satisfied with my purchase.

Back tire tends to go flat. Invest in solid tire replacement. The suspension doesn’t change that much.

Why does it go flat? Could you recommend me some solid tire replacements?

they do not "tend to go flat" you will be fine, just get a little $20 battery powered air pump. Not sure what that person is talking about

I have a pump at the house or could always take it to my local gas station in my car. Im only using it on my school campus. Is a pump a must have on you at all times type of item?

Check tire pressure once a week or so. The extremely small volume of air means even large temperature swings can cause several psi change in pressure.

Also fill to like 5 psi under what "max" rating is on side wall. Usually its 50 psi but I find 45 to be more than plenty to prevent rim strikes but stay safely away from over pressure.

Invest in a solid electric air pump and it wont go flat any time soon.

I think so yeah, I attribute having only had one flat on my scooters in 6000km ridden to checking and topping up the tyre pressure weekly.

What I did was buy a cheap battery powered pump from aliexpress, I can try and find the listing if you're interested.

Just make sure you pump the tire every two weeks or so, and check visually before your rides if the tire is noticably deflated and you should be good. There is no scooter tire that "is more prone to flats" except if the manufacturer uses very bad quality tires and tubes. Your is tubeless so should be fine as long as keep at a good pressure and do ride on a naile
