Clone moment

Solid tires don’t help with vibrations.

Metal fatigue. Happens if you ride over bumps. If you don't have suspension, don't do it.

Steels have a measurable fatigue limit (the maximum stress that it can take over and over for 'infinity' cycles). Aluminum on the other hand has no such fatigue limit. Why for example aviation has rigorous inspections and service procedures managing the structural aluminum details and components. In addition to rigorous design and validation of these details and components.

That’s a common fatigue area on the $199 m365 clones. The metal is just too thin. Ironically the welds hold up great, it’s always the thin metal around it that peels away. Kind of like junk if you ask me 🤭

Solid tires...

wouldn't be a problem if they didn't all use aluminum

these cheap mofos just need to make it a bit heavier and out of steel

steel doesn't get weaker everytime it's loaded or stressed (up to a certain point), aluminum does, and the amount of stress doesn't even matter

it Will break one day, if it is alu, and yea sure solid tires may accelerate that sudden death, but it's still a crappy material used like this

and no even American aluminum would do that, it isn't just cuz its Chinese.

This way your scooter weighs 10kg more and halves your autonomy.

uhh no.. only if you also gained weight, 10kg really isn't gonna make a large difference in autonomy.

look at it this way, if you + your scooter together weigh 90kg for example, you may get 10% worse autonomy at best on hills*, on flat roads even less difference when you then together weigh 100kg

the larger the person riding the less increase in scooter weight really matters

but lets be honest, you could just make the top of the frame (deck, or a part of it atleast) and the neck holding your stem out of steel

those are very critical parts on a frame..

The joy of garbage clone and solids.

why do you drive something like that? your own life is worth nothing?!

1

u/Different_Target_228 1d ago

People say this same thing about all e-scooters. Dumb thing to say.

1

u/Super-Form-6454 1d ago

what do you mean about everyone?! If I buy a Chinese clone, I know for sure that I will fly with it at some point.

Everybody shit talks about the "welds". Who thinks xiaomi m365 and the rest where build for that full tire? Some of you are truly talking s... That's a crack that took alot of small holes and maybe jumps. The tire doesn't have anything to rebound. Using that kind of tire needs a monorim suspension. Ever think of that? You have a full sturdy motor wheel, a stem and a weld. What is the first thing that takes stress on jumps and bumps? Think people, think. "no Karen, just logic"

u/Dear_Archer7711 1d ago

It’s very likely that an unnoticed crack formed from very hard riding (or just bad luck), and then further compromised as the crack grew. Clones are cheaper because the materials used are usually lower quality.

But yes. It is probably a design flaw with solid tyres and lack of proper suspension with a weak metal that led to it.

Bull dogs right it’s an aovo I can’t remember which model but none the less won’t be getting one from them again and from what everyone’s said my next one will have dual suspensions😂

How in the....

2

u/LethalLariat 1d ago

Shit welds and bumpy roads don’t mix

3

u/ecsanad05 1d ago

Nah man, what I can see on the image is that the welding is fine. The material itself gave out. It's literally torn out. It does look kinda thin. Maybe if you bend it back, and secure it with a metal plate with screws from the bottom and nuts on the top, it could give some life back to it, but not for long. The way it broke is just absurd and unseen.

1

u/Different_Target_228 1d ago

Nah, I had about 1000 miles on an m365 clone and the worst roads in the country, Wisconsin, without an issue. This is hopping curbs or pulling on your handlebars while you ride.

u/This-Adhesiveness318 1d ago

Sorry about the break my brother. Silver lining is that the electronics could be parted out to recoup some $. Time for an upgrade. Ausom is having a sale right now!

Glad you’re ok.

You mentioned work so you must have money saved up then. Spend $500+ on your next purchase if you want something that'll last ya

u/ryfiguy98 1d ago

Couple 100 more dollars could’ve gotten you a lot farther

1/16" steel plate to hold 200 pounds?

1

u/SammyUser Obarter X3 (VESC) | Boyueda S3 (VESC) w/ 40T battery 21h ago

probably aluminium, which continuously gets weaker, steel atleast has a sort of fatigue ceiling unless you really overstress it, but aluminium doesn't and forsure one day will break

1

u/GingerKitty26 1d ago

you’re right

I put front suspension and back suspension on my m365 with 10 inch solid wheels. Bigger wheels together with full suspension is such a gamechanger. Have been doing trips to shop together with wife, so 130kg on frame and extra 15kg shopping bag on the handlebar. No problems whatsoever. But have always kept possibility like this in my mind....

u/ComprehensiveOne5525 1d ago

If it does still working , u can fixe it

u/Gerard345185 22h ago

I have a Xiaomi pro chassis 2 if it can go

u/Outside_Sink9674 InmotionRS 21h ago

In my opinion you should not be gentle with your scooter. Invest instead in a more solid model with suspensions

1

u/After_Unit4601 1d ago

Well now is the time to upgrade your ride to something more sporty.

Don't pull the plug yet there's still hope. Find some duct tape and a duct tape specialist and you might be back in business. 🫣🥺🥹😢

1

u/SammyUser Obarter X3 (VESC) | Boyueda S3 (VESC) w/ 40T battery 22h ago

theres hope, get out the angle grinder and welder..

and just toss the thing in the garbage

just keep everything except for the frame itself incase you find the same scooter then you have spare parts, those may even fit genuine xiaomi scooters.
