Buying advice What is wrong with this sub 😭

I have been trying to find a Scooter to buy for college for the past week and everytime I search a brand here its 50/50 this is the best most reliable brand or this thing will kill you immediately. I just want a Scooter that won't break down immediately/can have parts replaced, and can handle rough terrain. Anything near 25 miles range and 20 mph is fine. Are there any scooters like this, (similar to Lime) (<1000)

Edit: im just going to buy a bike at this point 😭

Buying advice First e-scooter, first Crash

So I bought an e-scooter I'd never seen on this sub. After some research,I found a guy in my country who had one and i ended up buying it. Scooter's name is K Cloud K6 Assembled it, all the screws were loose, typical parts bin-scooter specs 60V, 38Ah,6000W. Took it for a ride and it was very kicky. Felt a little wobbly, but whatever. Rode more, hit 40 km/h... then death wobble from a nasty pothole and i was on the ground, had a full-face motorcycle helmet visor popped off, and i was feeling fine then I looked at my right arm and my bone was sticking out, radius exposed fracture.

Glad I'm alive. Ride safe, guys

(Will post some arm photos if mods let me)

Buying advice It finally happened…

I know the Hiboy brand has been controversial in this subreddit, but ever since I bought this back in 2023, I’ve never regretted getting the Hiboy s2 pro. I can’t predict how many miles it had on it but it must’ve been over 2000 since I used it for commuting almost daily.

Welp, the warnings came true; mine snapped on my commute a couple days ago. So now comes the question… what’s next?

I emailed Hiboy and they can’t replace it since it’s past the warranty, but they did offer me a cheaper deal on their KS4 pro. It wouldn’t be too expensive to buy but I’m gonna be honest, it looks UGLY compared to the S2.

I’m planning on getting a car within a month or two, so I could stick it out with that for a bit, or I was considering just switching to another brand like the Segway and having a good one, but that would cost a lot more, so… what do y’all think? What should I go for?

Buying advice Bought Amazon lithium battery for scooter upgrade, package delivered burning…

I’ve got one of those Rasor C35 SLA scooters new in the box for under $100. The range is abysmal and the rear tire doesn’t hold air so I bought a solid tire and a 15AH lithium battery for a nice little upgrade to make the thing usable. I brought in the package as soon as the battery was delivered and opened it up, upon opening the box I was greeted with a smell of burning plastic! It appears the charge port connector must have shorted out somehow while in the box and melted. The battery seemed to be packaged ok so I don’t really know how this could have happened. FedEx is lucky it didn’t burn down a truck or warehouse.

Buying advice New Segway g3 max

Post image

Is it just me or with these specs at 899 they will sell a lot of these things!

When I first saw the specs 50 miles of range, 28 mph top speed 2000 w of power , my thoughts as follows

  • definitely would have bought g3 max over the kaabo x plus , very similar specs and the kaabo is 25% more money šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

  • Segway historically offering crappy specs for the money has seemed to change

  • the zt3 is now basically obsolete with worse specs for much more money

  • don't get suckered by a Black Friday sale that isn't really a sale, wait until the weather is good when u actually need the scooter! They always have sales it seems. (Manufacturer fanboys here won't like this comment but idgaf, we have to do what's best for us!)

  • I bought a Segway max g30p for a close friend for Christmas/ birthday combined , she is in fl and has had a lot of use of hers and had no issues. Segway ninebot seems like a much better option for first time scooter owners whose only experience is lime

  • if you buy a Segway , buy it from amzn, much better return policy then direct

  • if you buy something else, like I did for me (kaabo x plus) or something similar to that, buy it from a irl store so they can make sure it's all squared away and give you help / education. The manufacturer materials and documentation are pretty bad , so much more help is needed!

So many smart people in here , someone should make a best practices for scooter ownership and maintenance. Even the most basic shit like don't use a fucking gas station pump for your scooter is not obvious to new scooter owners. Thanks to the person in here that told me that and I bought a digital pump they recommended. And like what's the best way to transport it in a car without out messing anything up.

Anyway this max G3 seems like it will really intensify competition which is good for all of us buyers!

Buying advice Arwibon GT08. Over hyped or good for the price?

Planning on probably getting one in a few weeks. Seems to be a lot of owners here, and alot of happy owners. Although others have suggested that it's just a very vocal few

What are other thoughts? Unexpected downsides or reasons I shouldn't get it? Wanted to ask for other opinions before pulling the trigger.

So far, seems like a good deal and worth it. Correct me if I'm wrong

Buying advice What speed feels like enough?

I’m between getting the wolf king Gt pro and the newer Wolfking X Max. The GT pro has a claimed top speed of 62 and the X max has a claimed top speed of 44. There is also the mantis King GT but the suspension doesn’t look as good as the other two and it’s not dual stem.

I’m coming from a motorcycle and I ride an electric skateboard that goes 45 km/h.

I was looking at the Roadrunner RS5 cause it has a slightly higher top speed but the battery is only 52V.

Buying advice Do scooters made us bigger targets?

I’ve always hated bringing my scooter onto the train and this is why. In Chicago, in the redline atleast, there are always constantly people with mask, gloves going from cart to cart yelling, tripping over people and eying valuables. I’ve had a good streak, maybe 1 or 2 people mentioned wanting my scooter but never truly made an attempt, but honestly the constant paranoia has prevented me from bringing it out much more. Especially on weekends, I try to not even touch my scooter if it’s a really nice Saturday. Just too many people lingering outside the stores and watching, waiting for any vulnerability

Buying advice Does anyone here have an FLJ K13?

I’ve always been interested in these. I love the look of them. But it’s hard to get first hand opinions on them. I’ve talked to exactly one person who owned one and they said they loved it but I wanted to ask about more specific specs and the buying process. Please don’t come in here with the ā€œParts Binā€ or ā€œAliExpress Junkā€ elitism. I’m just trying to find out a few things about this specific scooter from someone that actually has one.

Looking to get my first electric scooter. I have done a lot of research and have narrowed it down to these two. While I do love the speed on the Ausom DT2 Pro, the Segway Max G3 seems more durable?

If there are other brands and models that are similar, please suggest below.

Thank you!

Hi, how can i convince my mum to let me buy the g2 master. I can easily afford it and its all about her "yes". I showed her many stats about how escooters are safe if you know how to ride them, i tried numerous arguments as well and she still thinks that its dangerous.

Buying advice To all people new to electric scooters with air tires, listen up!

Thumbnail

If you end up buying a new electric scooter with tires that take air, you need these adapters! This was the only way I could add air to my tires, otherwise it hits the wheel, and doesn’t make a great connection. These exact ones I bought work perfect! I bought one of those battery pumps, and it was junk right out of the box. This works very well, but if you want 45 psi in the tires, you need to pump to 50, because when you remove these, it lets some air out

Buying advice Has anyone pre-ordered the new Segway GT3 Pro, and if so, where?

I’ve only stumbled across a couple sites that are selling it. But I’m curious why there Segway site doesn’t have links to preorder the GT3 Pro.
Wanted to see if anyone had preordered and if so, where

Buying advice Looking to buy a scooter on sale today, where should I look? And what should I get?

Some things about my situation:

  • 240+ pound heavy riders will use it very often.
  • has to go up a moderately steep hill, 8% incline I believe.
  • would like it to be able to travel long distances, 10-15+ miles there and back.
  • budget is not much of an issue, but nothing over $2000, and if we reach that amount ideally we’d have an option to finance it.
  • the frills/look of the scooter isn’t important at all, performance and safety is everything.

Any recommendations on both what scooter to get, and where to buy it right now for the best deal?

it's currently top selling and the price is very real, since I checked the official sites on kukirin. the reason I can't order from kukirin is because theyre not available and will be available in September since they're not currently in the EU warehouse. the site here says that the scooter is gonna be delivered august 9th, but idk if that's possible since the polish warehouse doesn't have them, so this looks like a scam to me. what do y'all think?
