Everyone knows once the hurricane passes, recovery is instantaneous.

So he expects governors to handle disaster response, yet won't let them handle protest response? Makes perfect sense. Smh. What a joke.

u/gbot1234 Jun 10 '25
Maybe he will federalize the Proud Boys to shoot at the hurricanes with magic markers.
13
u/Riff_Ralph Jun 10 '25
That would replace his previous strategy of potentially nuking a hurricane.

u/zerombr Jun 13 '25
I would not be surprised to find out that he already has federalized the proud boys for extra ice goons

u/sambull Jun 11 '25
Chris Kyle (Made a hero and lionized in the movie American sniper) claims in his autobiography to have deployed to Katrina to kill people as a US sniper. Maybe they'll use proud boy next time?

u/Aggressive_Walk378 Jun 13 '25
Well, that way you can see who is effected, and if it's not your people, fuck em
-21
u/Arm_Lucky Jun 10 '25
I mean when the governor in question doesn't handle protest response, then yes.
Doesn't change that what Trump is doing to FEMA is awful, but Newsom letting LA burn isn't the "gotcha" you think it is.
14
u/HokieFireman Jun 10 '25
LA isn’t burning, LAPD, CHP and LASD had it well in hand.
-14
u/Arm_Lucky Jun 10 '25
So the chief of the LAPD himself saying that they are "overwhelmed" with the amount of crime is him just outright lying?
6
u/HokieFireman Jun 10 '25
LAPD chief said it’s not helpful.
-7
u/Arm_Lucky Jun 10 '25
It's not helpful because they got called out on their incompetence, and now it's backfiring on them.
If they actually helped out when the rioters assaulted the federal buildings, then this wouldn't be a multi day issue.
6
u/HokieFireman Jun 10 '25
Holy crap you just can’t keep the lies and conspiracies straight can you.
-2
u/Arm_Lucky Jun 10 '25
How is it "lies and conspiracy" when the entire thing is blatant incompetence that's been recorded in 4K for the past week?
7
u/HokieFireman Jun 10 '25
You clearly have never worked a civil disturbance. This wasn’t even as bad as Super Bowl or NBA championship wins. A few hundred people at three locations totaling less than 3 city blocks. Easily handled by local and state law enforcement.
1
u/Arm_Lucky Jun 10 '25
I can't believe you are seeing any of the actual footage of the riots and still thinking this.
Oh wait, you probably only get your news from reddit and MSNBC, so it's not a surprise.

Yes, it certainly is. He would say anything for further funding and publicity.

My mom and sister live there and outside the zone it's peaceful. I was living there during the 1992 riots and this is a mist compared to that shit storm.

u/HokieFireman Jun 10 '25
We won’t recover from these 4 years in so many ways.

I used to laugh at this gif. I mean, I still do, but I used to too. Obligatory Mitch aside, this one hits different now. I really wonder how it will be going forward.

The upside is that mouth breathers will finally realize why they rely on the government. Or they won't, and instead blame everyone but themselves.

Is he going to slap a tariff on any hurricane that dares form after hurricane season?

I think Trump should be phased out during this hurricane season… meaning right thee fuck now

“I’ll personally hold states, governors, citizens accountable that get in the way of Hurricane paths…who cannot keep their structures from the damage…who even looks at the rain, or gets caught in a gust.”

Insider here: so the actual plan (after this season) is to provide disaster recovery funding directly to states that show “respect for the president and his agenda.” Other (Blue) States will be forced to take high interest loans from private sector corporations to fund recovery. Only corporations listed in a future EO will be allowed to provide these loans. The intent is that these will be companies the president already has equity in. In the unfortunate instance that those states attempt to find other ways to manage their own disasters, like California, the plan then is to politically attack the (blue) leadership in that state as incompetent, in an attempt to destabilize the state and cause civil unrest. The objective is the weaken the nation’s union. This is how the administration is getting Red states on board, in the gulf coast. California is a big hurtle to this plan— which is why attempts to destabilize that state are underway now. East Tennessee, the blue part of the state, is being piloted now in trying to get survivors to take loans instead of grants. Ugly but that’s the plan…

California was totally unstable before POTUS came into office…

Trump doesn’t have to wait until after hurricane season to phase in BOFA…
11
u/grenille Jun 10 '25
Will he also be phasing out tornadoes, floods, and fires after hurricane season?

u/Beneficial_Fed1455 Jun 10 '25
I watched the clip and he was totally talking out of his a__. It didn't really make any sense.

Luckily, the new FEMA boss doesn't know when hurricane season is, so we've got an extension

u/dMatusavage Jun 11 '25
Guess 2025 will be the last year hurricanes hit the US. Trump will sign an Executive Order stating so. 🌀💨💨⛈️⛈️

Hurricane-based disasters were always bad for the economy. FEMA enabled that shit. Thank God someone finally did it. Fucking hurricanes have been tearing shit up unrepentantly for too long! No more hurricanes!

So that means he’s well aware that people need it during hurricane season but doesn’t care

Note: start a private sector response and recovery business now.

I dunno we make most of our money off Cat Z

u/Obizzle9 Jun 12 '25
Kinda figured. I could also see the big companies move right into state contracts filling a void from the federal government.

Those States get money to pay us from the federal government. I was working COVID closeout for the state of Illinois. We had to end early because the state ran out of money to pay us.

All the southeast states are red. Prime hurricane areas. It will be fun to watch how they respond next year. I'm sure Leavitt will blame Biden if it's a complete disaster.

u/Dadbodohyeah1 Jun 13 '25
What does this dude have against FEMA? Did they deny him assistance? I bet it was because the whole world made fun of him after the paper towel throwing incident. What a maroon.

Hurricanes for 2026 and beyond are cancelled by Executive Order.
