News Trump Official Denies Shutting Down FEMA Disaster Program (BRIC)
https://www.law360.com/articles/2371318/trump-official-denies-shutting-down-fema-disaster-programI don't have access to the article, the snippet says the administration has not decided on shutting down the BRIC program.

Remember April 4, 2025? When FEMA clearly called BRIC “wasteful and ineffective” and said it was being axed for pushing “political agendas”? Yeah, well, they’ve now memory-holed that line from the website faster than a PR intern with a Red Bull addiction. And now, Acting Director David “Definitely Not Vigo the Carpathian” Richardson wants you to believe that, no, actually, BRIC isn’t dead—it’s just being “evaluated.” Which in bureaucratic-speak means it’s in a coma and the plug is halfway pulled, but technically still twitching.
He also tossed the hot potato up the chain to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem—because nothing says disaster resilience like outsourcing it to someone who once told kids to buck up after she shot their dog. 🐕🔫

"I can't believe how many disgusting democratic bike paths and bus shelters were funded by this appalling program!!" -David Richardson, nearly verbatim.

So you know how a whole bunch of states sued over the BRIC cancellation? The administration filed a response on Friday and basically said “We didn’t REALLY cancel it yet, we just SAID we were canceling it, so it’s not ACTUALLY canceled and therefore you can’t make us un-cancel it.” I’m not a lawyer but that argument seems, um, creative. We’ll see what happens next, I guess.

I find it hard to believe anything this administration says. Nothing they do is in good faith.

This right here sums it all up. Do you remember that picture of an executive shaking a person's hand for a deal with their fingers crossed behind their back? That's what all of this reminds me of.

I once read a book in college about T-Shirts and donating them (to areas in need or something). They called it the 'nod and wink', at least for politicians.

Ironic, when all they want you to do is have faith, and many of their staunchest supporters tout their faith.

Faith in Jesus Christ is one thing. Faith in an unrepentant felon/con-man is another.

Please watch this, Noem is trying to cancel FEMA all together and is trying to take that money and have states take care of natural disasters which will never work out for us. She and the Trump administration will not be happy until they have taken everything from us.
Noem illegally used 650 million dollars of FEMA money to build Alligator Alcatraz while people are still waiting for help from FEMA from natural disasters.
Also she has requested a brand new 50 million dollar jet to replace her other jet for travel which will come from the Coast guard fund so she can travel both for work and pleasure in style.
She thinks she can dip into whatever budget she wants to at any time without being accountable which is illegal.
She must be held accountable!

Richardson’s declaration asserts that no BRIC grant has actually been canceled? Did I read that right? Don’t we have some local jurisdictions who contradict that?

Didn't trump tweet that they were politically motivated grants and he was shutting it down?
Tell us you have no idea what you are doing without telling us.

I think that dude was out on a weeklong bender with Hegseth before he showed up in Kerrville. Or, at least I assumed so based on his appearance at the press conference.

You mean this administration is backpedaling on a hasty decision after they realized it’s a terrible idea and hugely unpopular?
