And is it the obligation of aid groups to ask for papers and report people to ICE? Last I knew, FEMA IA wasn’t asking either.
Don’t ask, don’t tell.

Well IA does require a social security number

Noncitizens (not the same as undocumented - admit that) can obtain social security numbers.

You can’t get IA benefits unless you’re a US citizen

Citizen, noncitizen national, or qualified aliens.
Undocumented immigrants not on that list. But much more than citizens only.

In Florida, Red Cross is banned from sheltering in some of the counties because they don't share who's in their shelter, so counties don't know if there's a sex offender, child predator, etc; but the reason ARC does that is to protect client confidentiality, including those who are undocumented since ARC helps and protects everyone to the best of it's abilities due to it's founding and 7 fundamental principles.
Wonder how this is gonna "play" out.

But the Red Cross operates with donated funds, not federal funds.

Cite your sources please. I agree that RC sells blood. However they do not “charge” agencies for shelter operations nor do they receive PA funding.

Pain and suffering is the entire point. This administration has no desire to help anyone outside of their little fascist club.

I would like Kristi to spend a week in a detention center, then have everything she owns including some of the clothes on her back washed away in a hurricane like Helene.
I hate wishing anyone harm, but she needs some education.
Jesus had amazing empathy for people in every sort of situation. This group of people running our government have a long way to go before they demonstrate the Christianity they claim to profess.

Yes, Jesus only helped the documented persons.

Don't forget, empathy is a sin.

Because disasters really care about an imaginary line on a map

And people caught up in a disaster always have their birth certificate with them. Like, when rescued from trees or flood waters. /s SMH

Ah yes things that are in abundance after major disaster wipes away their home include people's citizenship paperwork so they can get food... Another sad joke of a policy from this administration

This administration: we want to be more efficient and reduce bureaucracy!
Also this administration, over and over again for some reason: we want to require absolutely everyone who comes anywhere near us to jump through additional bureaucratic hoops, do more paperwork, and have less autonomy to operate efficiently!
(Separate from the politics of this, they’re asking for these organizations to add complex and expensive steps to their processes and operate more slowly)
