TRIP PLANNING MUST HAVE sit down

We love snacking around Epcot, truly the best!

But I’m taking my mother who hasn’t been since 2003 and want to make sure she loves it as much as i do

What’s the one special meal you would reserve and make happen ?

Takumi Tei is the Japanese Victoria and Albert’s, but at half the price.

Le Cellier. That filet. That cheese soup. Those sprouts. That crème brûlée.

Takumi Tei is kinda surreal. Don't think I'll ever forget that experience.

Would you really say it’s worth it? I’m a fan of Michelin star places and high end Japanese but wasn’t sure about shelling out that much for a Disney-fied version of omakase.

Yeah, I hear you on that. But for us, it was worth it. There were a lot of special touches with that place, it was really quiet and serene. Each dining room has a different vibe/theme based on Earth elements like from Avatar. Service was very sincere, delivered by the Japanese Disney international cast members.

Vs going upstairs to teppan edo, which is pretty much the opposite. We didn't like our last meal there. It feels kinda rushed, impersonal, super loud, chaotic. I think takumi tei is a better value.

But I would understand how it might not be everyone's vibe.

Ah ok. Yeah I’ve been really intrigued by it. I may try it out in a future trip (one where I’m not already spending out my butt with grand Floridian and other things 😂) thanks for the input!!

No problem! Yeah, it's a bit expensive, but like the other guy said, you could almost look at it like a value when compared to V&A's. 😂

via napoli for sure

Hands down. We also really liked Le Cellier.

Le Cellier is fantastic! Worth every penny.

1

u/Wet_Artichoke 22d ago

Agreed. One of my underrated favorites was the maple butter. I practically licked the butter knife.

1

u/URnevaGonnaGuess 22d ago

LOL! Yes! Food so good you are willing to take the looks of horror as you lick the plate and say, "Don't judge me."

Via Napoli is so good. I wanted to go the other day right after we moved here but they didn’t have any reservations available. Went to Space 220 instead and that place had really good food. Either everyone was wrong or they changed the menu since they opened because all the reviews saying the food was average were way off. I think they changed things up.

u/XxfigmentxX 20d ago

via napoli being booked up while space 220 isnt is unheard of for me HAHA ive never managed to snag a reservation, glad you enjoyed it!!!

u/toothfairy625 19d ago

What’s your favorite thing to order there? We are going in October!

1

u/XxfigmentxX 19d ago

i have such a basic answer, i love their margherita pizza!! i got it the first time i went and never looked back, genuinely the best pizza ive ever had. ive gone with people who have gotten a few of their pastas as well and only had good things to say tho!

1

u/toothfairy625 19d ago

Awesome, I will try that! Love a good margherita 🙌🏻

If staying on site, we quite enjoyed the fireworks dining package at Rose and Crown.

Sit down wise, there are several great options in multiple countries.

1

u/SpookyAngel66 20d ago

Those are impossible to get. I’ve been checking it out on the app for the past month and they’re constantly booked.

2

u/Bolt82 20d ago

Your best opportunity is to stay on site for an extended period of time and book towards the end of your trip

1

u/SpookyAngel66 20d ago

Yep, that’s the plan. We’re staying for 5 nights but one of them is dedicated to MNSSHP and another is for Woody’s RoundUp BBQ, (my grandson is a huge TS fan) so that gets us down to 3 nights. Hoping for the best but if we don’t get one, that’s the way it goes. I refuse to let one meal ruin the whole trip. 🤷‍♀️

I know the Chinese restaurant (Nine Dragons I believe) gets a ton of hate - so much so that I tried to sway a group I was going with to another place... but honestly, it was good!! So good that most of us shared our entrees with one another and couldn't decide what was the best one!

Personally though, when it comes to me getting to pick, I'll usually choose Le Cellier in Canada!!!🇨🇦

Garden Grille in the Land pavilion has amazeball foods. Highly recommend.

Monsieur Paul’s in France is a very expensive meal that I will never regret paying for. The scallops were heavenly. They carry a Michelin rating for good reason.

Edit to add: Also, it was very quiet and peaceful in there. Not sure if it was the time of year (Mid March), time of day (5:00 PMish), or the scary prices, but there were very few people inside. A great place to have a conversation and unwind. Their wine list: 🤌🏻

We always eat at the inside restaurant at Mexico, and I love it.

2

u/Soundtracklover72 21d ago

I love the atmosphere there. The food is meh for me because I’m picky and can’t tolerate spicy foods, so next time I’m doing chips & queso blanco and dessert. :)

5

u/MeTieDoughtyWalker 20d ago

Yeah, the food is just okay, but worth it for the ambiance.

What’s your budget?

4

u/Boring_Ad_4892 21d ago

What’s your budget? For sit down inside of Epcot my personal favorite is Space 220. They have changed the menu recently and I haven’t tried it yet. Outside of that I would walk out the back of Epcot to the Boardwalk. Flying Fish or Yachtsman Steakhouse is what I frequent regularly.

2

u/MeTieDoughtyWalker 20d ago

So they DID change the menu. Went to Space 220 last week and it was so good.

1

u/Boring_Ad_4892 20d ago

Did you happen to get the filet? That was my favorite, along with mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables. Favorite appetizers were the Cauliflower, Cesar Salad, and the Deviled Eggs. Desert favorite was the Blue Planet.

2

u/MeTieDoughtyWalker 20d ago

I got the chicken, my wife got the salmon, and my mother in law got the short ribs. I have gotten very good at cooking steak so I generally don’t order it at restaurants aside from steakhouses. And I was disappointed both of the times I went to Steakhouse 71 and the three times I went to Le Cellier. But I will say I thought the steak from California Grill was very good and of course the Yachtsman is probably the best on property. Haven’t been to Flying Fish. Have to check it out if y’all recommend it.

u/Boring_Ad_4892 20d ago

Steakhouse 71 was awful for dinner. Their version of a filet looked like a low grade sirloin. Le Cellier sides were good. My filet was charred on the outside. Mid rare in the inside which is how I ordered it. No clue how a mid rare filet could be bone dry and zero juice, but they got a 10 from me accomplishing it lol 🤣! Never again. I’d probably stick Flying Fish one notch above the Yachtsman. Extremely amazing! The new steakhouse at the Swan is corporate run like Shulas was so I’m not in any big hurry to try it. Space 220 has really nice ambience. I actually think their filet is decent. At least it’s real unlike Steakhouse 71. Great flavor too. Not as expensive as the other two restaurants though. Glad you enjoyed it!

I’ve only ever eaten at San Angel Inn and I personally loved it. It’s not top tier Mexican by any means, but the atmosphere was incredible and I had a great time. I thought my meal was delicious, but I get the complains about food in general. It was worth it for me and I’m going back for my trip next month!

u/Salt_Tear5054 21d ago

Via Napoli if you want pizza, Tutto Italia for Italian. I really do think they’re the park’s two best restaurants that aren’t $195 a person like Monseur Paul or the new Japanese place.

u/WeirdArtTeacher 19d ago

Where are you visiting from? What kind of food do you like? Personally, I think if you’re visiting from any kind of decent size city, it doesn’t make a ton of sense to eat at a fancy steakhouse or Japanese restaurant in Disney when you can likely get a better version of the same food back home for less money, so in those cases I’d favor the weird and unique dining experiences that have entertainment components like Biergarten or Garden Grille.

Fun question!  A few of our favorites:

—Rose & Crown has a nice pub atmosphere and menu

—Coral Reef because where else can you dine adjacent to a massive aquarium?

—if mom wants to visit with princesses, lunch at the Norway pavilion

—Biergarten at the German pavilion is an interesting buffet with great entertainment

3

u/MeTieDoughtyWalker 20d ago

If Coral Reef had better food it would probably be one of the most popular places in the parks because the theming is super cool.

2

u/dtshockney 18d ago

I love coral reef. Its one we make a point to go to. They had an amazing salmon on their menu March 2024 but it was gone by Oct 2024 and I was so sad bc it was so good.

We love the Biergarten in Germany at Epcot or Rose and Crown; Raglan Road at Disney Springs and Ohana for dinner is always on our “must do” list

1

u/vtxlulu 21d ago

Shiki-Sai if she likes sushi.

Biergarten in Germany is a fun time with the live music and dance floor if you want to.

There’s also Monsieur Paul in France. Way outside my budget but it looks like an amazing dining experience.

2

u/iluvmusicwdw 20d ago

Splitsville has better sushi

2

u/diaymujer 20d ago

Le Cellier, for sure. The pretzel rolls dipped in the cheddar bacon soup… to die for. I even made the soup at home, that’s how much I loved it.

2

u/partyinangel 20d ago

Le cellier. Pretzel roll and butter, poutine, then filet mignon. A must every trip

2

u/Own-Engineer3427 19d ago

Definitely, Le Cellier.

2

u/Chelseabsb93 19d ago

Le Cellier! The filet mignon was one of the best I’ve had on property.

Walk over to Beach Club and eat at Beaches n Cream. The au jus is divine, and the ice cream is wonderful.

1

u/Calm-Station9440 18d ago

We actually like Space 220 for the atmosphere. My dad still swears up and down they had the best beet salad he has ever tried. We have been several times. There are truly tons of good restaurants at Epcot but for a one of a kind experience I would definitely recommend Space 220.

1

u/summerwinds69 18d ago

I agree with le celier and the Japanese - but I am also partial to Morocco. The lamb is divine

1

u/summerwinds69 18d ago

The aquarium has a beautiful aesthetic and you sit down. But the food is kinda atrocious. I’d ask her what county she’d like to dine in

2

u/kittenmcmuffenz 17d ago

I think garden grille is amazing. You sit above living with the land ride, get all the characters, and the food is amazing.

Also le cellier. Just yum.
