Black and White Spirit

Hi, I’m new to this sub and wanted to know if anyone knows what I experienced.

Recently we moved into a new place. We are Catholic. The house was built a year ago. Shortly after we moved in some one unalived themselves next door. It was the girlfriend of the resident. My wife (25F) and kids (3F, 2M) were at home.

As a Catholic I always have a house blessed once a year. I also had the priest do an exorcism of the property. I just say that to say I believe my house is protected from evil.

Recently my kids were seeing what they called a “scary guy”. They would stare at random spots in rooms especially my son. They would randomly ask questions about the scary guy.

My wife mentioned it a couple times. I heard a couple comments. They are young enough that if they see an unsettling picture or show or anything they will obsess and talk about “scary guys”. I asked them about it in the car once and my daughter (3) made it sound like they were comfortable around it. She said she liked it and it didn’t say anything to her.

Later that week my wife said it was becoming more frequent and we needed to figure it out. I put holy water around the house and prayed and asked for protection for my kids.

Our kids were sleeping with us and I woke up in the middle of the night to see a strange figure hunched over my son. It was white to about the waste and had a black lower half. It looked like it was whispering in his ear. I tried to brush it away and said “get out of here”. I had just woken up so probably a weird reaction. I began praying out loud and it disappeared. That was enough for me to start looking into it.

I did ask my daughter the next day what it looked like. She said it was black.. and it was white.

I just started thinking it can’t be evil. My kids aren’t afraid of it and haven’t started acting up in any way. I have never heard of anything evil coming to a place where you have prayed and sprinkled holy water. I told my wife it’s probably a soul in purgatory that needs our help. Since I have started praying for the souls in purgatory the kids haven’t seen or talked about it and neither have I.

Also I haven’t been able to find any info on black and white spirits. They are usually black or white. If anyone has a similar experience or more information I’m interested.

I have had experiences with paranormal before but this was so different.

It could be that it's a spirit that is both light and dark. Either because it has a conflict within itself, or it's like that on purpose. It's also possibly a "vibe match" for your house because it's a juxtaposition of a blessed home with the often dark human soul energy. Not a judgment on your family, we just live in heavy times.

Angelic or at least good beings often have to understand evil in order to combat it, or to help people recover from evil influence. Think about how angels in the Bible are described. Not exactly cute and cuddly!

In my experience, one who walks in the light knows an evil spirit when they see one. Good spirits are willing to give praise to Jesus even if they aren't Christian, I've found. It's not a bad test, but just be careful when vetting beings and keep God in your heart, because even the devil knows scripture. Maybe you'd see them turn light if they fully embraced God.

That’s a weird and unsettling experience. I’m glad it seems to have gone away. I’ve never heard of something specifically like that, but I imagine a spirit could present itself anyway it chose, if it had enough awareness. Also it might have been something else and that’s just the way your brain interpreted it.

The only real advice I have is to pass on is something that has helped me immensely. Try to picture yourself, your core, or your soul, whatever you want to call it, as a ball of light. No matter if you believe that you are a piece of God, you are God, or you are protected by God I think this could help. If I experience something scary I push light out of me. I am light, and I’m just as powerful as any being because, imo, we are all one of the same being. It’s the faith and conviction that gives us power, the knowing, which, also imo, is why calling out to a higher power works so well. If you truly believe you are a piece of that higher power then nothing can harm you. Does that make sense? You could teach your kids to also envision themselves as beings of light and teach them to cover themselves in it before they go to sleep. Belief powers reality and all that.

I used to have horrible sleep paralysis and monstrous entities appearing where I’d struggle to call out to God or Jesus. I also use to have awful nightmares. Something shifted in me years ago and in my nightmares I suddenly wasn’t afraid and blasted anything trying to hurt me with light. I don’t have nightmares like that anymore. The sleep paralysis stopped as well, and I have a new sense of peace and confidence in myself because of this shift. I hope this was helpful to you in some way.

The home itself, being a new build, I almost got the sense that you may have encountered something that was pre-existing on the property or in the earth of the land itself. Understanding that you’re Catholic, I know that many practitioners are taught that anything outside of the biblical religious text is of the devil and demonic and evil. However, you mentioned that you’re no newbie to paranormal experience and also sound willing to accept your encounters and are open to learning new methods to be able to manage these encounters. That being said, I might suggest finding a psychic medium to come in and take a walk through the home and around the property. If you’re willing. Just because this thing seems to have engaged with your children. Better safe than sorry when it comes to our kids, I say. A medium should be able to help you identify what/who this entity is. And if it’s a guardian figure or something more menacing that needs to be banished from the property. I hope you pursue this, simply to be ensure the safety of your children. I mean, it could very well just be a benevolent guardian spirit watching over you and your new family and home after a sad trauma. You’ve already blessed and cleansed the home, which is great. Black and white / light and dark, it's a frequency, definitely not evil if you're carrying light
