League Question Why does Travis Hunter only get 1 point projected on defense but 15+ on offense slot?

Post image

One of the team managers in my league is wondering why Hunter only projects 1.69 when he’s starting as an IDP. I’m sure it’s just the yahoo projection thing is off as he should be able to get offensive ppr points regardless of where he starts? Anyone else do IDPs in their yahoo league that can help out or explain?

Your commish has adjusted the default settings to not count offensive stats in the IDP slot. He's projected over 15 in my PPR league with IDP slots

I have him, same projection regardless of his position in my lineup

I am the commish and didn’t see that setting but I’ll take a second look

Have fun trying to convince your league that you’re going to change settings to make your own player FAR more valuable than perceived at the draft. Or even worse changing it unannounced. Put it up to a vote

This looks like yahoo, also the commish also with Travis hunter. Projected points don’t mean anything. His offense points still count for us while I have him in the IDP slot, so projection is just wrong in my case. Last week proved it.

He had 42 snaps on offense and 6 on D last week. Probably going off that because there isn’t much to go off of. They say he will have more D snaps this week but who knows.

It's a bug in the yahoo app projections. If you go to the matchup page or on the web, it will likely show a higher projection. On mine, it projects him for 1.86 on my team page and 13.11 on the matchup page and web.

Because he is only getting IDP points if he starts in an IDP position on that platform.

In my league he’s projected at 11.08 - 12t ppr

Not specifically familiar with Yahoo, but my instinct from the data side with that behaviour would be that the tables containing stat projections used to generate predicted points are separate for IDP.

So when in a WR/FLX spot hide protected points are based solely on offensive scoring, and when in an IDP slot it's based solely on his defensive scoring.

If that's the case then it would depend on the platform setting for his actual weekly projected score. If it's offensive/defensive only based on where he's started then it's whichever number is for the position he's in. If it allows scoring as a 2-way player then you'd add the two together to get his total projection.

that sounded right, until the guy after you commented with a screenshot where hunter is projected for 15+ in an idp slot in his yahoo league. so now im wondering too 🤔

He hardly plays any defensive snaps, therefore he will receive very little defensive points. I’m sure yahoo has it to where it doesn’t count his catches as a stat towards defense, which is how it should be IMO.

They said he will play more defensive snaps this week and it will change based on opponent. More high powered offense he will play more defense

Still doesn’t mean he will do much on defense. He is a corner after all.

They’ve already said they are choosing week by week based on matchups where they will use him. Like this week he will primarily play defense bc of Chase.

Yeah but he’s still trash for defense no matter what. Burnt toast at corner. Doesn’t make any tackles. Having him in your DP slot without him getting any offensive points is not smart

I know that’s why I didn’t draft him. I don’t play in an IDP leagues anyways but just saying why people are complaining about it that do.
