General Discussion If the boys played highschool band instruments

Andy would obviously be percussion. And as a band kid I can say Joe seems like a trombone. Patrick would be a clarinet. Pete would be a tenor or various sax. What yall think

I totally agree, but Pete could fit in percussion with Andy too tbh. He feels like the percussion kid that never actually played that much and always grabbed the triangle or suspended cymbal parts so they could goof around. Funny you put Joe as trombone; as someone else said he did play it. Patrick as a clarinet for sure though lol.

Bass is usually considered part of the percussion section so this makes perfect sense honestly. As a bassist I can confirm we are part of the rhythm section, bridging the gap between the beat and the melody. We bring the beat from the drums to the rest of the song.

I get why people would say his personality fits different instruments, something that's more front-and-center because he's the front man. But honestly I think Pete does fit the vibe of a bass player (but I know I'm biased as a bass player myself), and playing bass fits the pseudo-percussion thing you're getting at.

Also bassists are widely considered "the weird one" in the band, and Pete is absolutely the weird one lol.

Wasn't Patrick always a dummer until Pete suggested he sing?

If we are speaking marching band:

Andy: battery - Quad player for sure, probably all four years, or maybe started as a bass drum his freshmen year and then move up. Section leader by his junior year.

Joe: I agree with trombone but I feel like he would play it his first two years and then switch to tuba so he could do tuba flips.

Patrick: clarinet. I think for sure he’d go crazy on a bari saxophone in the jazz band but stick to clarinet in marching band. Probably would end up drum major his senior year.

Pete: tenor saxophone. He’d also be the only tenor saxophone in the band and he would definitely play into the whole He’s-his-own-section thing. And he Would never practice his music but would always nail it.

Always thought Patrick would be a trumpet player.

As a tenor AND bass player, I can confirm that Pete would definitely play sax

I did a report on Andy in high school. I can confirm that he did in fact do drumline in high school.
