Film Made a music video for Die Spitz parodying the early 2000s emo scene bands
https://vimeo.com/1107907269?share=copyI directed and edited the music video for the Die spitz song Pop Punk Anthem (Sorry For the Delay). The band were babies when this emo scene style was popular, but I was in a band on an emo label and remember this time vividly. We shot this on the Sony Venice, FX6 for b-cam and a pair of DV cameras. We actually used a fair amount of the dv cam footage in the performance as we were using primes on the Sonys. The band wanted to have an early 2000s aesthetic, so we went for a 35mm look for A and B cam as was the custom in that time, as supplemented with dv footage to keep us in the early 2000s mindset. The band basically sheds their bring 9-5 lives and becomes emo bullies. I toured on the Warped Tour for a few weeks and can attest these characters would have fit right in. Me wife owns a wig shop so we could easily source th right styles, although Ava, the singer, didn't need a wig. We shot this all in one location which is Firehouse Studio in Round Rock if you ever need a great space. I highly recommend checking this young Austin band out. These ladies are on a serious tear and their new album is incredible.

thats an austin texas band! not really into that genre or sound but thats cool to see something from austin on here.
im more into LSD sounding music and am not into emo or punk but thats what people are into these days i guess
i hope to be making some music videos on 16mm film out here soon. i got all these rolls in my freezer need to use them.
