HOLY CRAP. that is insane!

I bet if there is like an incident ECC would be like “we need a Quint, patrol, type 3, type 1, and a utility vehicle” and this is all that in 1 😂😂

Doubt it's got a pump. That would be too heavy.

With today's alloys, carbon fiber and plastics, I'd wouldn't be surprised if it was a high GPM capacity 2 stage! Daddy's and granddaddy's are museum exhibits with today's tech and computer design and materials.

Pumps haven't changed that much. Physics are the same. It doesn't have the horsepower to run much more than a 250gpm when you consider all the hydraulics for the ladder.

Gear boxes have changed, computer design ing can further develope the proper gear and pump configuration. You do know that a 2000 GPM pump is being installed on the same chassis, same diesel engine ( micro pumper) !

Badass. I'd snap a photo of that in a heartbeat

this makes me think just because you can doesnt mean you should. have a hunch this vehicle is ok at several things but great at none. just the outrigger cost for payload and space is tough, then the ladder? i'd be surprised if this had a pump - primarily because GVWR is going to be so snug with chassis, ladder, ladder hydraulics and outriggers your option for more than a tiny tank is badly curtailed.

Brodozer fire truck.

Looks like a Paw Patrol vehicle.

No ground ladders, apparently.

When was the last time you saw a truck actually throw ground ladders.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Grand27 Jun 23 '25

Plenty of times when the truck is actually staffed and not left in quarters.

I've heard of mini pumpers but a mini ladder truck? Thats pretty cool

There's a department in rural Massachusetts that uses an old electric company bucket truck as a ladder truck

It will be in maintenance more than being on the fire floor.

Why do you say that?

Too much lots of stuff to be looked after lots of stuff to break besides the electronics in the chassis just looking there are plenty of electrical gremlins just hiding and the pump, hydraulic systems. Apparatus is getting like fighter jets an hour in service is 10 hours in maintenance. I’m old school ya need wet on red a good strong engine, pump, and a good engineer is what the devil needs

u/Pyroechidna1 Jun 21 '25

Is this not true of all fire apparatus?

0

u/Headgasket13 Jun 21 '25

Yes but the problem when you try to make it do everything it can but none of it well. Like a Swiss army knife ya it cuts but there is so much packed in it is difficult to use.

This truck isn't trying to do everything, it's just a ladder. No pump, tank or excessive equipment loading.

Well I’m sure it’s useful in some fashion.
