The union's job is to focus on the worker. That's it. When one candidate is obviously better for its members, not endorsing anyone is absolutely spineless. The union shouldn't be taking into consideration any other talking points or issues, only working conditions, wages, and labor. It's up to the individual to make their final decision with the candidate who fits their ideals and morals.

Simply put? No. The union shouldn’t endorse anyone because every person under the union has their own opinions and morals. If my chief suddenly said “hey blank department supports blank candidate” I would immediately feel like my voice doesn’t matter. Same with the unions.

Do you pay your chief a piece of every paycheck to be a voice for you and stick up for your livelihood? That's the difference. It's literally the union's job.

It’s not about politics, organizational support is pragmatic in nature. When a political candidate literally brags about not paying his employees overtime, that’s like… the whole reason we organize labor in the first place.

I’m speaking in general. What does that tell union memebers who don’t vote the same as the union head? In the last 3 elections we’ve seen how people treat other people who have different political views.
