It's the new ladder truck for Saint Michel des Saint. It has a 70' ladder. That city is around 2500 of population and with nothing much higher than 2-3 floors. Its a good idea for small part time fire dep.

One of the guys on our VFD sent this to us over FB. Apparently $800k (CAD I imagine) so like 100k USD (lol).

Seems pretty cheap considering.

New engines are running close to $600k for pretty basic equipment.

Our 600k engine we ordered 2 years ago just got in, 1,000,000 to order the exact same engine this year

We just did specs on an engine. Same exact as what we ordered 4 years ago for 325k, it's now 700k.

We just ordered a commercial cab program truck last month, its already off the line and headed our way. With all of our equipment mounted by the company the final cost was 505k

Are you implying that’s a good price for a commercial cab?

Brand new for what the truck is and the speed of delivery, id say its a pretty fair price. We looked at a similar truck with more bells and whistles the year before and that one was 700k. Why, do you think its too much?

Because up until recently you could get a midline custom cab for that price.

600k 2 years ago got us a custom E1 Engine with alot of ordered features

Where do you live if i my ask. Only reason i ask is cause our 2014 custom ETA was 500k back then, but again its nys so it is no surprise how much more we pay lol

Why? Was there a policy decision by the executive branch during that time? Or was it that they let the consolidation under REV occur under there watch? Not fishing here (no pun intended :), just curious

Nope, just a stupid joke. I do wonder if tariffs affect the prices, or it's just from the global inflation alone. Maybe someone smarter can educate me :)

Fire engine prices have been expensive and climbing for much longer than the 5 months Trump has been in office

Specialized equipment gets to raise the prices whenever they want because they can.

Thanks! My combination dept just got quoted $2.3mm for a pierce tower. Holy crap!

Did they do the “deal” where you get a discount to pay now while they get the money 2.5 years before you get it?

2

u/Inevitable_End_5211 Jul 14 '25

No idea. Above my pay grade. But they have us all over a barrel.

So sell the engine and take the department on an all expense paid trip to Vegas.

Seems like a pretty easy financial decision to me
