Ask A Firefighter At what age did you start firefighting?

Asking because it’s a late career choice for some, while others do it right after college or even high school.

Can I ask, what did you do as a youth firefighter? That seems very young, but I'm not sure what it entails.

I'm not sure what it's like for them, But i went through the program in Australia Pretty much our volunteer firefighters Run what known as the junior program, Youth aged between 11 and 16 learn about a career in firefighting and familiarise themselves with gear and house operations and stuff like that, And they also help out with community events such as our Santa run, Fundraising and open days

That's sweet and sounds like a fun way to engage with the community. Thank you for sharing.
