I love when the Fire Department comes out to wash my House. 🏠

Let’s not be putting any ideas in the heads of the city/county commissioners.

True story: at Christmas the FD that was local to my in-laws would drive super slow RLS through the high-income bracket hoods in town—it was customary for donations to the Firefighter’s Discretionary Fund to be collected.

THEY cleaned up.

All through the year, pools were filled, streets washed or other “honey do” FD tasks were ticked off.

I wish I was kidding, but my FIL was crazy generous and they didn’t even have a pool. Lol

Lol I bet the Firefighters were very happy to have to work.

Crazy, right?

And before I’m asked again via message—this was a career department.

I’m all for working smarter, not harder, but just the take from FIL and his closest friends/neighbors, the department took in over 10k.

Cha-Ching!!

Work it!

I wanted to clear up another question I’ve had.

This “fund” money went into fire company firefighter discretionary funds—nothing went into the department coffers.

So fire staffers got the full benefit. They spent it on what they wanted. I hope no one had to provide their own meals ever.

Perhabs they are cooling it? We had a gas fire and we were like spraying the water onto the house next to it to protect it from the heat while waiting for the gas company tell us where exactly is the valve that could close it. Maybe its like similar situation except inside the house?

Nope they are definitely washing the houses in the neighborhood here. Community service. The Bricks are dirty and they are cleaning them with soapy water to ensure the neighborhood looks presentable for the public.
