Videos Lego LAFD Engine (Pierce Arrow XT)

I just finished my newest Lego creation: A 1/15 scale full RC Pierce Arrow XT Engine from the LAFD.

See comments for pictures :)

Specs include:

  • remote controlled drive, steering, pump and deck gun
  • one inlet (suction), one outlet (switchable instead of deck gun)
  • 0.5 gpm pump
  • electronic siren (wail, yelp, hi-lo), Q, Air horn
  • accurate emergency and scene lighting
  • 15 feet of hose (transverse and rear hose bed)
  • chrome parts up the butt and custom decals

Out of curiosity how much did this cost for parts? Im averaging about $60-70 a build for parts right now and mine are fairly detailed. But I build In 6 wide scale (I think that’s about 1:40 or so). I can’t imagine how much this cost especially with all the moving parts.

Yeah, it’s a lot. I build in 20 wide, so it’s around 3,500 parts plus 2 BuWizz, sound module, the chromed parts and 5 power functions motors - I figure it’s about 1200$. Though I have to say I reused the BuWizz’s and sound module from a previous MOC

3500 parts is mind boggling for me. Im around 500 for a normal build. I think I could finish my fleet for $1200 haha. Incredible work on it. Thought it was a consumer RC rig at first.
