General Discussion Border Patrol agents arrested firefighters fighting Washington wildfire after they asked the fire crew to line up to check their IDs.

What do we all think of this? Seems pretty nuts to me. They are actively getting in the way of wildlands guys as they do their job out there. I dont think this should be allowed or encouraged. Firefighting is a lot more important than .... risking 20 guys dressed exactly like firefighters crossing the Canadian border?

Private contractors are leaches. they dont “fight fire” or really provide much support. ultimately, theyre sucking off the tit of the taxpayer as their funding is federally sourced. get em gone.

Awww did someone get kicked off their Greyback crew?

Over the last 16 years of working in federal wildfire, I have overseen multiple contract crews in multiple states. Every single one of them have outworked their state and federal counterparts.

Are there bad contract crews out there? Obviously. Are there bad state and federal crews out there? Also obviously. Don't lump all contract crews together, the majority of them are hard-ass workers who can cut line in circles around you.

lol this entire post is type II AF. I was on 2 IHC’s and a rappel crew and I learned to cut line in AK… Cut circles around me? The “majority”?? I’d love to see it. And do people actually get kicked off of greyback crews? Pretty sure they actively seek out meth heads. what does one have to do to get kicked off a scumbag contract crew? sounds like the guy who couldn’t cut it in the big show became a contractor apologist. contract crews are worse than BIA crews hahaha

btw, did you even notice those canary bright yellows and pearl white unscratched Bullards? wtf are you even talking about?? do you even know? for the record it’s entirely unsurprising that a private contractor crew was busted for having illegal immigrants. you should see how shocked my face looks right now.
