Ask A Firefighter Problems raising the Spartan Gladiator cabin

Good afternoon, at my base we have a 2004 Spartan Gladiator Classi truck. The cabin won't rise. Is there any support for where the air relay is? Does it have a spacer? Does it have something to do with it since a nut is lost? Any help is appreciated.

Let’s backtrack: when you try to lift the cab is there a sound like it’s trying to lift or is it just silent?

If there is no sound, does the motor that lifts have power?

If there is sound, is there enough hydraulic fluid for the pump to lift the cab?

It doesn't make any sound, you can only hear air escaping from next to the clock when I turn on the switch.

Okay so if it doesn’t make any sound like a motor running to lift the cab, to me (not an expert, just someone who lifts the truck cab every shift) this seems like you have an issue with the jockey pump/electric motor that powers the piston to lift the cab.

I would endeavour to look at that issue first and solve it before moving to the next one.
