Am I going to regret painting this trim white?

Looking for recommendations to improve the look of this fireplace and mantle. Easiest and trendy option is to paint the trim white, but I’d like to hear any other suggestions!

P.S. yes that’s an inconveniently placed window above the mantle.

I’d paint it white with a quickness. That is not a good look.

Paint it whatever you'd like. The crime is when people paint brick or stone work, forever ruining it.
