Unfortunately, when you have completed the free roam mode by picking up all the hidden cassettes, time will stand still: the sky will remain hazy and annoyingly bright and there will be no change in the sun position. The only way to fix this is to start again.

Is that a feature or a glitch? I'd imagine if it's a glitch, Valve/Campo would be pretty quick to fixing it.

It is not a glitch, I think it is intentional.

It actually fixed itself. During free roam it kept telling me to go deeper in the cave, so I did. When I came out the sky was back to normal.

Did you find all the cassettes? Because I am positive that at one point, no matter what you do, the time will stand still.
