My cousin's 8 year old son pulled in a tank pumpkinseed this size on random tiny rod setup with 4# test and a little trout spoon in Groton VT yesterday. Never saw anyone in my life as happy to pull in any other fish. We looked it up that night it was like 3/4" short of the state record.

i looked it up because this lady was at least a pound and the state record is 2lbs! imagine a bluegill that size!

Our state record here in Alabama is like 3 ounces larger than our state record for Crappie, 4lbs 9oz vs 4lbs 12oz for the bluegill. I can't even imagine one that size!

Bluegill or (panfish) they're little fighters, the biggest in weight for me was 8-1/2 " long but most of are small fighters

Dear Lawdy that's a unit. An equivalent fish would be like a 120lb tarpon LOL

I love it when they get so big their mouth looks like it was put on their face from a smaller fish. They start to look like a literal pan with their tail being the handle.

Caught a black crappie bigger than my foot last year and I thought I had my pb bass on until I saw it. Love catching big panfish!
