THE BEST PLACE IN Bar Sawa or Sushi Takeda for omakase?
Hi, I’m taking my boyfriend out to LA for his birthday and was hoping to see if anyone knew if Bar Sawa or Sushi Takeda would be a better omakase and experience for him? Morihiro and Kaneyoshi don’t have any available dates when we’re going unfortunately but I came across these two and am torn between which one is better. If you have any other suggestions lmk!!

If you search this sub you'll find people talking about both. Having not been to either my impression is that you should go to Takeda for a traditional experience and Sawa if you're interested in the cocktail pairing.

Got it, probably going to lean more towards Takeda then since my bf doesn’t drink. I was hoping to do the signature omakase there for $280 but I just read it’s only available two days of the week and we won’t be there those days ☹️ that’s why I was torn between the two since both look like they serve about the same amount of courses for the same price since we can’t do the signature at Takeda. Thank you!

Sawa while had good food their cocktail menu and NA menu have some drinks with the same name. I also do not drink and i discussed the NA options with the server and then ordered a drink. After 15 minutes they informed me they gave me the alcohol version. I had a few sips and was fine and they did take care of our bill but a warning!

Sawa has a much cooler vibe. I’ve enjoyed both places but Sawa feels more like a special night out
